A Playboi Carti lookalike has taken the internet by storm, with his fans flooding social media with comments and reactions. Playboi Carti, also known as Jordan Terrell Carter, 28, first gained public attention after he released an eponymous mixtape in 2017. The mixtape contained chart-busting singles like Magnolia and Wokeuplikethis, peaking at #42 on Billboard 200.
Carti's first two studio albums, Die Lit (2018) and Whole Lotta Red (2020) peaked at #3 and #1 on the Billboard 200, respectively. The rapper is scheduled to release his third studio album later this year.
In the viral video, Playboi Carti's lookalike is seen cleaning some sneakers while saying something in French.
Fans showered the video with comments asking about the rapper's third album. Some of the most popular reactions are:
"Close enough, drop the album."
"Carti cleaning shoes instead of dropping music," a fan wrote.
"Carti can actually claim he is that guy," one fan quipped.
"Wow, that's interesting! I'd love to see the resemblance. Is there a video or photo of this lookalike?" commented another fan on X.
Some fans even joked about him being a clone of Carti.
"that's Clayboi Parti," joked a fan.
"They cloned tyrone was a documentary," wrote another.
"carti making rep shoes instead of releasing music," opined one fan.
One netizen even joked about Playboi Carti and Sabrina Carpenter.
"Nah, he saw that Sabrina girl was doing numbers so he decided to become a Carpenter," commented the fan.
"he's our last hope just call Carti's manager and drop that album leak everything man!" Wrote another.
"Bro learned another language before dropping," someone joked.
Playboi Carti describes his new album as 'burnt music'
In a recent interview with Billboard, published on September 3, 2024, Playboi Carti and his producer, Cardo, described the third album as 'burnt music.' The two also compared the music with the works of DJ Toomp, Juicy J, DJ Paul, and The Legendary Traxster.
"We'll be in the studio, like, 'This music is burnt,'" said Cardo.
The rapper hasn't confirmed the album's name but has teased several names over the years. In an interview for XXL Magazine's Spring 2022 cover story published in April 2022, Carti revealed that the album's name would be Music. Since December 2023, Carti has started promoting the name I Am Music as the title of his next album.
The rapper also detailed the contents of his third album, revealing that the album would be based on "Love, s*x, drugs, changes in my life."
The rapper continued:
"I've been rapping about going to rehab. I want to go to rehab because I think I'm bipolar. I want everybody to feel free. I want this album to make everyone feel free. I hope this album brings peace to the world, honestly. I'm in love with what I'm doing."
Playboi Carti's third album is expected to be released by the end of 2024, although the rapper hasn't fixed a release date yet.
