50 Cent appeared on The Breakfast Club radio show on October 30, where he discussed various topics, including Lil Durk’s recent arrest. For those uninitiated, the latter was placed behind bars on murder-for-hire charges alongside his fellow Only the Family crew associates. 50 Cent claimed to have warned Durk about the people he surrounds himself with.

In a clip that has gone viral online, 50 Cent said:

“Even with Durk, I was telling him like, we was in New York, we did Power Powder Respect… we did the theme song for Force, Chicago’s version. Then I was like- “Oh, this, this is them? This is the real sh*t right?” He [Lil Durk] was like “yeah, yeah.” And I said- “Yo just watch him.” His group. Because you know what I’m saying?"

X page @mymixtapez shared a clip of 50 Cent’s aforementioned remarks, which went viral and amassed nearly two million views. A few reactions to the same read:

Several internet users expressed similar sentiments, with many wishing that new rappers would take the mentorship of those who have remained in the music industry for years. Some comments online read:

“50 cent is the only person in the industry you can trust,” an X user said.
“Pretty sure it was already too late by then…,” another platform user said.
“You can’t trust nvgga around you, these OGs must have a a lot one and go,” a netizen said.

Lil Durk was arrested alongside Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Asa Houston, Keith Jones, and David Brian Lindsey, who have been described as members of the OTF crew as per law enforcement. Meanwhile, other reactions read:

“Well he was already mixed up in that life already so what happened was expected,” an X user said.
“The crew are always the one to put you down,” a platform user said.
“He could have trusted 50,” a netizen said.

Evidently, several people opined that it was too late for Lil Durk to trust 50 Cent, as they believed that he had founded the OTF crew by then. Meanwhile, other reactions read:

“That’s some serious advice,” an X user said.
“50 Cent has seen it all, Durk should’ve been more Careful around em n**gas,” another netizen said.
“50 Cent always keeping it real, Durk better listen,” a platform user commented.

Why was Lil Durk arrested? Details revealed as 50 Cent interview clip goes viral online

The indictment against Lil Durk and his OTF crew alleged that they put a hit on fellow Chicago rapper Quando Rondo in retaliation to the fatal shooting of rapper King Von, who was part of OTF and long-time collaborator of Lil Durk. The legal complaint against Lil Durk, whose real name is Devontay Durk Banks read:

“Evidence shows that Banks ordered T.B.’s [Quando Rando’s] murder and that the hitmen used Banks and OTF-related finances to carry out the murder.”

The indictment added that the OTF crew pulled out a “fully automatic firearm” to kill Rando; however, they ended up fatally shooting his cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, instead.

This is not the first time Durk has been arrested. He previously faced charges in connection with an Atlanta shooting. However, the same were dropped in 2022.

Meanwhile, he is also getting sued by the mother of late rapper FBG Duck, who has alleged that Banks’ record label profited off of Duck’s 2020 shooting.
