Megan Thee Stallion faced off against R&B singer Ne-Yo in the season premiere of Celebrity Family Feud, which aired on ABC on July 9, 2024. The rapper came fresh off the release of her third studio album Megan on June 28, which included her serpentine-themed singles Hiss, Boa, and Cobra.
Family Feud host Steve Harvey kicked off the show with the first question, "Name something you've done to a mate's feet," to which Megan Thee Stallion quickly replied with, "Massage."
While the rapper seemed unfazed, her fans, dubbed "Hotties," took offense to the question considering Megan Thee Stallion's history of being shot in the foot by Canadian rapper Tory Lanez in 2020.

Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez's shooting incident explored
Megan Thee Stallion appeared in court to give her testimony during Tory Lanez's Los Angeles trial in December 2022. She said that Tory Lanez shot her in the back of her foot after the two left by car from Kylie Jenner's Hollywood Hills home on July 12, 2020.
She told the jury that she got into an argument with Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, while the two drove away from the party in an SUV. She added that the fight started after she mocked the Canadian rapper's musical abilities.
Megan explained that the fight escalated from there, and she demanded Lanez pull over the car and let her out. Lanez reportedly shouted at her to dance, before pulling out a handgun and shooting. He then let Megan out of the car, who walked away from the vehicle bleeding.
During the trial, Megan Thee Stallion, aged 29, also claimed that Lanez, aged 31, had offered her $1 million to stop her from making the incident public, claiming he had been "just too drunk." Meghan added she regretted speaking out, saying the entire ordeal felt like "torture."
Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta read out her victim impact statement after Meghan said she “simply could not bring myself to be in a room with Tory again.”
“Since I was viciously shot by the defendant, I have not experienced a single day of peace. Slowly but surely, I’m healing and coming back, but I will never be the same.”
The prosecution asked the judge for a 13-year conviction while the defense argued that he should be let off on probation and released from prison to enroll in a substance abuse program.
Tory Lanez was convicted on December 23, 2022, and found guilty of all three charges connected to the 2020 shooting. Lanez is reportedly incarcerated at the California Correctional Institution.
Megan Thee Stallion is currently on the European leg of her "Hot Girl Summer Tour," with the next show scheduled for July 10 at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam.
Following this, she will perform in Manchester, Birmingham, and London on July 14, 16, and 17, respectively, before returning to the USA for the Broccoli City Festival on July 27 and Lollapalooza on August 1.
