Kendrick Lamar was in Compton shooting for the music video for Not Like Us
Recently, Kendrick Lamar was in his hometown in Compton, California to shoot for the music video of his Drake diss track Not Like Us. On the afternoon of Saturday, June 22, he was spotted moving across different locations in the city with his producer Mustard.
He was captured in places such as Compton City Hall, Tam’s Burgers, and Nickerson Gardens, among others. As per several reports, his fellow Compton rapper YG was also present for the filming alongside hundreds of fans.
Apart from the cheek-pinching incident, many other videos emerged on the internet including the one where people surrounded K-Dot and sang along to Not Like Us in what appeared to be a block party. So far, it remains undisclosed when the Pulitzer winner plans to release the music video.
Before the shooting, Kendrick Lamar was at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California where he performed at the memorable The Pop Out – Ken & Friends concert and celebrated Juneteenth with his community, family, friends, colleagues, and fans.
During the show, K-Dot performed all the diss tracks against Drake live for the first time, including Not Like Us, which he rapped five times in a row. The introduction was made by Dr. Dre, while later, several West Coast rappers joined him on stage including YG, DeMar DeRozan, Russell Westbrook, Roddy Ricch, YG, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, ScHoolboy Q, and Tyler the Creator.
NBA stars LeBron James and James Harden cheered from the crowd alongside rap icon Rick Ross. For those unaware, Kendrick Lamar released Not Like Us on May 4, as part of his ongoing feud with Drake. It debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, becoming his fourth career number-one.
