Sabrina Carpenter recently began her Short n’ Sweet tour in Columbus, Ohio, on September 23, 2024. While the singer performed all her hit songs, the aspect that was missing was the Nonsense outro that Sabrina had been performing when she opened for Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour through the summer and fall.
Sabrina's Nonsense outros keep changing, wherein sometimes she pays tribute to the city in which she's performing, and sometimes the outro comprises s*xually suggestive lyrics. During her concert in Ohio, at the time of the outro music, fans heard fuzzy audio, and Sabrina looked around without being able to sing in the microphone.
As the singer was lowered off the stage, the screen read:
“We apologise for the interruption of our program due to technical difficulties.”
Since Sabrina Carpenter skipped the fan favorite Nonsense outro during her performance in Ohio, fans took to X to express their views on the same. Expressing discontent with Sabrina skipping the outro, one fan tweeted:
"Cutting the best part of the show? That’s like taking the punchline out of a joke. Fans live for those outros, and now it’s just “Nonsense” without the spice. Let’s hope this isn’t a permanent change, because that’s what makes her shows unforgettable!"
"i’ll miss the outros 😭 they truly were so iconic," an X user stated.
"What’s that really technical difficulty," another X user mentioned.
"Technical difficulties isn't enough reason," an internet user commented.
"Technical teams are getting really sloppy! Can’t imagine how embarrassing it must be for Sabrina," another internet user tweeted.
While some showcased their annoyance toward the technical difficulties that led to Sabrina skipping the Nonsense outro, others took it in a positive manner:
"She’s growing as an artist no need for her to cling onto the same trick and she has new songs to perform now," an X user said.
"that's so smart to "end" that era like this," another X user mentioned.
Sabrina's Short n’ Sweet tour began in Ohio on September 23, 2024, and is set to end on March 26, 2025, in Milan, Italy.
"That was the most inspiring thing for me ever to see as a young girl": Sabrina Carpenter tells Christina Aguilera during Spotify event
Christina Aguilera recently celebrated 25 years of her self-titled album on September 23, 2024. Aguilera collaborated with Sabrina Carpenter and Machine Gun Kelly for an anniversary event for Spotify, wherein she sang What a Girl Wants with Carpenter.
According to NME, Sabrina Carpenter was freaking out before the performance, and she told Christina Aguilera that she was 8 when she heard the Reflection singer's voice the first time when her mom played a video of Aguilera singing A Sunday Kind of Love. Sabrina said:
“That was the most inspiring thing for me ever to see as a young girl that wanted to sing, but just didn’t think I could do it at that age.”
Additionally, on September 20, 2024, Aguilera shared a TikTok video on Instagram wherein she and Sabrina are lip-synching to an audio that is seemingly from one of the episodes of The Kardashians wherein Kylie Jenner mentions, "I'm obsessed with my mom."
In the video, Sabrina mouths:
“That’s exactly what I’m saying, I’m her favorite.”
Aguilera can be seen nodding along to what Sabrina Carpenter says in the video.
In other news, Vulture reached out to Sabrina Carpenter's representatives to confirm if she is officially removing the Nonsense outros, however, the singer's team hasn't responded yet.
