Cardi B is speculated to be coming up with new music as TMZ reported on August 7, that the rapper has filed trademark applications for her upcoming projects. Legal documents acquired by TMZ report that Cardi B has filed trademarks for two phrases, “Defamation of Character,” and “Intrusive Thoughts."
The documents state that the phrases are meant to be used for music videos and downloadable music files, including potential other uses.
As the news about the same continues to go viral, multiple social media users are now reacting to the titles. As an X (formerly Twitter) account, @Cardibcaviar reported the same on the platform, one social media user commented and said:
“Defamation of character slaps omfg.”
On the other hand, others also poured in their speculations regarding the titles.
“DoC is HARDDDD,” one fan said.
“I hope is defamation of character, because the acronym D.O.C is so BRAT!” another fan wrote.
“Defamation of character goes so hard,” one netizen commented.
While some suggested what the prospective album name should be.
“I love intrusive thoughts as a title and defamation of character should be the first song,” one fan said.
“Defamation of character eats so down,” another fan said.
Furthermore, many social media users also stated how the titles filed for trademarks can be great follow-ups for her Grammy-winning debut, Invasion of Privacy.
The album was released in April 2018 and consisted of 13 songs, including Thru Your Phone, Money Bag, Ring, I Like It, Bodak Yellow and Be Careful, amongst many others.
Cardi B’s sophomore album speculated to have a 2024 release
After the news started floating about Cardi B filing names for her possible upcoming music, fans are now more curious to know the release date of her much-awaited and talked about sophomore album. As reported by TMZ, the rapper is likely to release her album by the end of 2024.
The publication also reported that the rapper is three-quarters of the way done, and sources close to her have stated that she is determined to be done with all the work regarding her album this year itself. However, the rapper has not announced anything official about the same.
On the other hand, Cardi B announced her third pregnancy on Instagram on August 1, 2024, by posting a photo of herself showing her baby bump.
The caption of the Instagram post stated:
"You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do!"
She concluded the post by stating:
“It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!”
The pregnancy announcement came just one day after she filed for divorce from her husband, Offset, after six years of marriage. On the other hand, Cardi B has two more kids with Offset, a 6-year-old daughter, Kulture, and a 2-year-old son, Wave.
