"Definitely not acting like a married woman"— Internet reacts to viral Romeo Santos and Miriam Cruz video as husband divorces her for kissing singer

A couple has recently gone viral after the husband divorced his wife, later identified as Miriam Cruz, as she kissed musician Romeo Santos at a concert on December 28. In a fan-captured video, Cruz could be seen leaping onto the stage and introducing herself to Santos’ bachata group, Aventura.

She eventually arrived in front of Santos and gave him a hug and a kiss, which made the crowd erupt in enthusiasm. This happened after Cruz was asked on the stage at Aventura's recent performance in the Dominican Republic. She then sat next to the Obsession singer as they sang La Guerra, their song from 2003.

The video was later uploaded to X by a user named @dom_lucre on December 31. Once the video went viral, many people took to the comments to express their opinion on the whole thing. One even said that she was awful as she was "not acting like a married woman."

“She’s awful! Definitely not acting like a married woman,” wrote one user.

Other netizens also echoed the same sentiment. One said that he was right to “get rid of her.” Another one said that she should have had “loyalty and commitment,” which is greater than some “whimsical l*st.”

“Definitely get rid of her…,” another one said.

“The comments show how western relationships have become so weak that a wife jumps between a random stranger's arms and people here saying it's just something trivial,” one user commented.

“I’ve never seen a more United comment section! Loyalty and commitment > whimsical l*st,” wrote another one.

However, not everyone agreed with the decision of divorce. Many netizens took her side and said that leaving her was probably “going a little too far.” Another one said that everyone deserves a second chance.

“Welp. I think leaving her is going a little too far. If she wanted to cheat she wouldn't do it with millions of people looking. But I think a decent fight (meaning argument of course) is definitely in order!” another one said, disapproving of the divorce.

“Everyone deserves one pass," said another one, echoing the same sentiment.

“Didn’t even seem like a big deal until she grabbed his face to kiss him on the mouth. If I wanted out as her husband it’s a good excuse to do it, but idk if that alone is worth ending a 10 year marriage. I think there are other factors,” said another netizen.

Miriam Cruz explained herself after going viral for kissing Romeo Santos

Cruz turned to social media after the incident to reveal that her marriage of 10 years had ended as a result of her behavior with Romeo Santos at his most recent performance. As per Complex’s January 4 report, Cruz's husband was not present during the concert, but he saw the video of the incident, which led to their divorce.

The same outlet said that Cruz allegedly wrote in a now-deleted statement,

“I have to acknowledge that this achievement came at a very high cost: the breakup of my 10-year marriage.”

As per the same Complex report, Cruz also shared an explanation of her conduct with Romeo Santos in the post. She said that she "got carried away by nerves and emotion, without considering how this could affect my family" and that she is now "overcome with deep sadness."

Cruz, however, went on to say that she was "happy" about kissing the singer and "having achieved this long-awaited dream, one that I imagined for years." She further went on to say that she is a huge fan of Romeo Santos.

“For me, it’s not just about admiring the artist, but also about valuing the great human being that he is. I have followed and admired him for a long time.”

On the other hand, Cruz’s husband has yet to comment on or acknowledge the incident. Romeo Santos is also yet to comment on the same.
