Akbar V called out Erica Banks over her tribute remarks for Rich Homie Quan, who passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024. While the cause of death has not been revealed, the music industry mourned the rapper.
This included Banks, who took to her Instagram to share a now deleted post expressing her loss. However, Akbar's reaction to the post suggested a "secret" relationship between the two.
"I understand you might be hurt but baby girl delete those pics and videos out of respect for his family man... you was a secret and not saying what yall shared was fake but certain stuff should remain a secret cause here comes all," she wrote on X.
The former Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta star cautioned her peer to "think before (she does) stuff," as otherwise she would garner "unwanted hate."
Both rappers were criticized online for their callous comments.
TMZ obtained the fateful 911 phone call before Rich Homie Quan's death
While Erica Banks has since removed her post paying tribute to Rich Homie Quan, IG account @theshaderoom shared a copy, which shows Banks wrote:
"All you wanted was to find happiness again. I always saw it in your face and heard it in your voice. But you had so much left to do."
She continued:
"I'm just glad we were able to enjoy such peaceful and memorable moments while you were here man. Such a sweetheart! Rest in Paradise Quan."
In addition to her message, the post included clips of Quan planting kisses on her face, him lying in her lap, and even a text message where he admitted to liking Banks. Needless to say, the Buss It hitmaker faced criticism for her post, many calling her post weird.
However, Akbar V too faced the ire, with netizens calling her a hypocrite for asking Banks to keep a secret but exposing the same on X. With the latter deleting her Instagram post, many wonder if she was just trying to keep peace with her Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta co-star.
Rich Homie Quan is believed to be dating Amber Williams, but the rumors remain unconfirmed. He shares two children with Williams.
According to TMZ, a 911 call from Amber Williams, Rich Homie Quan's alleged girlfriend, reported finding the rapper unconscious on the couch. She initially thought he was sleeping when she left to take her son to school, but later realized he wasn’t breathing and had no heartbeat. When she turned him over, foam appeared at his mouth. Quan was taken to the Fulton County morgue.
