Rapper Sean Diddy Combs turned 55 on November 4 this year but spent his birthday behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, New York. The music mogul has been under custody since his arrest on September 16, 2024 on alleged charges of s*x trafficking and racketeering.
An exclusive report by The New York Post revealed Combs' birthday menu for the entire day at the MDC, which was confirmed by the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The report suggested that Diddy had a birthday cake in his breakfast menu in prison as a part of the regular spread for the inmates on Mondays.
The breakfast spread reportedly consisted of oatmeal, oven brown potatoes, biscuits, cereals, fruits and whole wheat bread with jelly. The report also mentioned that Combs could opt for a piece of breakfast cake on his birthday although it was not a special arrangement made for the rapper. The cake was a part of the usual breakfast spread for inmmates.
The Post further detailed Diddy's lunch and dinner menu. The rapper had pasta with marinara sauce, meatballs and a garden salad for lunch, served at 11 am. Dinner was served at 4 pm and included chicken or tofu fried rice with black beans and carrots.
Reportedly, Combs could also get a dessert if there were enough commissary funds in his account, with choices including Nutella, Snickers or hot chocolate. Other items in the lunch and dinner spread included Southwest chicken wraps, cheese pizza, rice, coleslaw, turkey roast and various different vegetables. A choice of bevarage was offered for dinner.
Since his arrest, Diddy's attorneys have appealed for bail multiple times. However, the jury has denied him bail on all counts with his trial date set on May 5, 2025. The rapper has pleaded not guilty and denied all charges.
Sean Diddy Combs' attorneys claimed food is the "roughest" part of prison for the rapper
One of Sean Diddy Combs' attorneys, Marc Agnifilo recently revealed that food was the "roughest part" of prison for the rapper. Speaking to the media outside a Manhattan federal courthouse in October, Agnifilo told The Post:
“I think the food’s probably the roughest part of it."
According to the People magazine, Combs' usual days at the Metropolitan Detention Center start with a bowl of cereal, fruits and breakfast cake at 6 am. Lunch is served at 11 am and dinner at 4 pm on weekdays. The usual lunch spread includes beef tacos, baked fish, hamburgers. Biscuits and scrambled eggs are served on weekends.
The dinner spread reportedly includes choices like chicken fajitas, roast beef and pasta. There are also "heart healthy" choices including tofu, lentils and black beans in the prison.
Diddy's trial date was set during a court appearance on October 10. The rapper appeared in tan prison clothing and waved at his relatives during the appearance. Combs' mother and his children were present at the meeting.
“The kids were very happy to support their father. The whole family was. They are united in their support and he was happy to see them all there," a source told People magazine.
Sean Combs' legal troubles began when his former girlfriend and model, Cassie Ventura, filed a lawsuit against the rapper in November 2023. Reuters reported that Ventura accused the Bad Boys Records producer of s*xual assault, physical abuse and r*pe among other charges. Although they settled the lawsuit outside of court soon after, multiple other alleged victims then came out with charges against Combs.
The rapper has now been accused of holding alleged "Freak-Offs", which prosecutors described as “elaborate and produced s*x performances that Combs arranged" and often "electronically recorded."
The barrage of charges against Diddy allege that many of these s*xual performances were non-consensual. The rapper has also been accused of multiple counts of r*pe and s*xual assault. However, Combs' lawyers have denied all charges since then.
