Did DJ Envy admit to cheating on his wife? Record producer gives advise to Cardi B and Offset amid divorce rumors

Amid the divorce rumors betweeb Cardi B and Offset, DJ Envy told TMZ on August 1, that he hoped that they had managed to reconcile and save the wedding. According to Envy, Cardi and Offset should keep the internet out of their relationship as it hinders honest communication. In the interview, DJ Envy said,

"I always say put the phone down, put the internet down. The internet always causes unnecessary problems, unnecessary disagreements, unnecessary things. Because a lot of stuff on the internet... aren't true."

He added:

"So, I'd just say they need to have the conversation, real conversation. 'I'm not leaving this room until this is done.' When your wife wants to have a conversation, those are the toughest things..."

While DJ Envy gave some interesting advice to Cardi B and her partner, it is worth noting Envy had some tough phases in his relationship with his wife, Gia Casey. The Breakfast Club co-host got involved in an extramarital affair with Erica Mena. In 2013, he even admitted to the listeners about his infidelity and called Gia to apologize.

In 2023, Erica Mena appeared for an interview with Carlos King for the Reality with the King podcast. During the conversation, Mena recalled the affair with the DJ and claimed that she didn't know about his wife until Gia reportedly called her. Mena added that she got the impression that Gia Casey was just the mother of DJ Envy's kids and not his wife.

Exploring DJ Envy's infidelity rumors

Gia Casey got married to DJ Envy back in 2001, which makes it a marriage of about 23 years after dating for about 7 years. They also share six children. However, Gia and Envy, whose legal name is RaaShaun Casey, experienced a rough patch in their relationship when she discovered his affair with Erica Mena.

Mena opened up about the extra-marital relationship in an interview last year, as already mentioned. She revealed that Gia called her, and that was when she became aware of Envy's marital status. She further mentioned in the exclusive conversation:

"That came out when I got on Love & Hip Hop, and we had just broken up because the wife found out, which I was totally oblivious to. I knew about the kids, mind you... it’s more common where we come from to have kids, but you’re not married; you just got a baby mama."

Complex reported that from Erica's statements, it could be concluded that Envy had portrayed himself as a single man with children. She claimed that he would get her a lot of gifts and she was falling for him already. Mena continued that DJ Envy even took her and her friends to Miami.

The outlet further reported that shortly after the affair was revealed, the conversation between Erica and Envy stopped quite abruptly. The DJ in fact ended up blaming her for the affair, which reportedly got her confused because she didn't even know that he had a wife. Erica further said that she had even spoken to DJ Envy on video calls from his home, and never got to know about his marriage.

Last year in September, Envy got involved in another controversy, and this time it involved singer and actor Tyrese Gibson. Envy had accused Gibson of disrespecting Gia Casey, which the actor clearly denied. He said, as reported by Atlanta Black Star,

"No one has violated and disrespected the s**t out of your first lady and your family more than you."

It had further been revealed that when the couple was going through the difficult patch, it was Tyrese Gibson who often acted as a mediator between them. The accusations and the heated argument between Gibson and Envy happened on the September 7, 2023, episode of The Breakfast Club.

Gibson later made an Instagram post, which was later deleted, where he called DJ Envy a "manipulator" and a "gaslighter" for cheating on Gia without a trace. In the caption, Tyrese Gibson added:

"What you did behind her back with the one, the two, the 10, that ain’t got nothing to do with me. You’re a manipulator. You’re a gaslighter. You’re also one of those great undiscovered actors."

The detailed caption of the since-deleted post also contained a question for the viewers, where Tyrese asked why DJ Envy kept contact with him if he claimed that Tyrese had disrespected his wife Gia.

Collider reported that in 2012 Gia was called to be a part of the Real Housewives of New Jersey during the tough phase, which she eventually denied. The decision was made to avoid having her marital life drama featured on the show.

In separate news, DJ Envy found himself involved in a real estate scandal last year in October, after his partner Cesar Pina was detained by law enforcement for an alleged fraud scheme.
