In his recent Drizzmas streaming event on December 27, Drake was in conversation with host Adin Ross, where he talked about an upcoming album. The Canada native told Ross that it was a collaborative project by PartyNextDoor and him, adding:

"Me and Party are honestly really proud of this project. It’s one of the ones I’m most proud of in my life. We’ve always wanted to make a full album of our sound—Toronto sound, R&B. This is the best that both of us have to offer."

Per HotNewHipHop report on December 31, when Drizzy asked Adin what he had been listening to, the latter expressed his disappointment at the alleged delay in his upcoming album, saying:

"I'm waiting for you and PND to drop that album... You told was going to drop three weeks ago. You lied to me."

The timeline around Adin's statement about the initial date of Drake's album release made fans speculate that it was likely scheduled to drop on the same day as Kendrick Lamar's GNX, ie November 22. However, Drizzy hasn't made any announcement that could confirm the speculation so far.

Poetik Flakko alleges knowing about Drake's album release date coinciding with Lamar's GNX

According to HotNewHipHop, YouTuber Poetik Flakko referred to Drizzy's latest stream with Adin Ross to substantiate his speculation that the One Dance rapper's album with PND was allegedly set to drop on November 22, the day Kendrick dropped his surprise album. Flakko said:

"Drake was on Adin Ross's stream last night... Adin Ross accidentally revealed something that we all already knew. Is that Drake was actually supposed to drop that Party album, not three weeks ago, but four weeks ago. Well, today is the 27, so, what week was four weeks ago? It was the week of the 22nd of November. Well, what dropped that week?"

Further elaborating on his conspiracy on Drake and PND's awaited rollout, Flakko claimed that Drizzy might've revealed to his label about planning to drop his collaborative album on November 22, which is why he said so to Adin Ross. However, after the label allegedly fed this information to Lamar "behind the scenes", the Hood Politics rapper surprise-dropped GNX that day instead.

As per Flakko's theory, he stated:

"Kendrick Lamar sees his opportunity as a way to really crush Drake. You see, Kendrick Lamar feels at the moment that he has the culture by the balls. So he can essentially outsell Drizzy, or at the very least, UMG is going to make sure he outsells Drake."

While the Tuscan Leather rapper and Kendrick are both indeed signed to the Universal Music Group (UMG), they don't share a record label. Lamar is signed to UMG's Interscope record, while the God's Plan rapper is signed to its subsidiary, Republic Records.

Drake filed a petition against UMG and Spotify in November 2024

While neither Drizzy nor anyone from UMG has commented on Flakko's conspiracy theory about the conflicting album release date, the rapper did file a legal petition against UMG last month, on November 25.

Per The Guardian, the Portland rapper accused UMG and Spotify of launching "a campaign to manipulate and saturate the streaming services and airwaves", alongside other tactics employed to promote Lamar's Not Like Us.

The rapper's lawyers wrote in the petition:

"UMG … conspired with and paid currently unknown parties to use ‘bots’ to artificially inflate the spread of Not Like Us and deceive consumers into believing the song was more popular than it was in reality."

The petition also alleges that UMG paid influencers to promote Not Like Us on social media and set up pay-to-play agreements with radio stations. The Uptown rapper's attorneys have claimed that they have enough evidence to demonstrate defamation by UMG.
