On Wednesday, Megan Moroney joined Alex Cooper for her podcast episode; during a candid interview, Moroney was directly asked about the rumors of her relationship with Morgan Wallen. Moroney suggested that she never dated Wallen "exclusively." She added she had avoided answering this question in all her interviews, but now "time has passed", so she can answer —

"Never exclusively. I have tried to avoid that in every single interview I've ever done. But we're here now, and time has passed, and all is well."

Megan Moroney did not elaborate further on her statement but offered some clarification by suggesting that their connection never developed into a romantic relationship.

Megan Moroney further revealed they met before the COVID-19 pandemic through a fellow artist, Jon Langston. She emphasized she had never told about how they met to anyone —

"Here's what I'll tell you though because I haven't told anyone this ever. Him and I met in 2020. [Fellow country artist] Jon Langston actually introduced us. I was a senior in college — COVID hadn't happened yet, his Dangerous album wasn't even out yet. So we were friends for a long time."

Because he's such a private person it just feels awkward talking about it."

Moroney was also asked about her track, Tennessee Orange, which was speculated about Morgan Wallen. In response, the country artist chose not to speak about it and suggested that she would never say what or for whom her songs are about.

The verse mentioning that a girl met a guy with blue eyes fueled the rumors, as Wallen has blue eyes. The lyrics read as follows —
