The Game, the renowned rapper and philanthropist, has once again stepped into the spotlight, offering to cover Airbnb costs for 10 families displaced by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.

On January 9, 2025, The Game took to his Instagram account and shared a story indicating that he and a talent manager, Travis Wilson, are stepping forward to help wildfire-affected people by providing them with Airbnbs at no cost.

As a result, many Instagram users pointed out the Priscilla Rainey case, in which she sued Game for s*xual misconduct and won $7.1 million in damages. Users on X inquired whether she had received her money amid his announcement. One user said:

"Did Priscilla Rainey get her money? Asking for a friend."

Moreover, more users on Instagram questioned how The Game, who claimed to be broke when he was ordered to pay Priscilla Rainey, is now offering free services to those affected by the wildfires.

However, some users on Instagram noted that Game has been doing great, and no other celebrities have come forward to help. They suggested that people are merely spreading negativity.

The Priscilla Rainey case, raised by netizens, stems from 2015 when Rainey filed a lawsuit against The Game. She alleged that during the filming of VH1’s reality show She’s Got Game in Chicago, The Game took her to a bar and s*xually assaulted her by repeatedly lifting her skirt and groping her in front of others.

According to AllHipHop, Game vowed never to pay Rainey. Summarizing the case in 2019, Circuit Judge TK Sykes stated:

"Taylor did not take the litigation seriously. He evaded process, trolled Rainey on social media, dodged a settlement conference, and did not bother to show up at trial. His attorney asked for a continuance, but the judge denied that request, dismissing Taylor’s proffered excuse as an elaborate ruse," Circuit Judge TK Sykes said.

However, the rapper has not addressed the claims nor responded to the reactions online.

Rapper The Game steps up to support wildfire victims with housing aid

On Thursday, January 9, 2025, rapper The Game took to his Instagram account to share a message addressing the victims of the wildfires in Los Angeles.

In his story, The Game announced that he would offer those affected free Airbnb accommodations for a week. He also provided instructions on how to apply for this assistance.

"Me & @travforthestars Are helping 10 families effected by the fires here get into @airbnb for a week free of charge. Have the head of your household Dm @travforthestars Now for more details. (Must have an identification or drivers license with address in the effected areas)," Game wrote.

At the time of writing, it is unclear how many families have taken advantage of this offer or have contacted The Game's talent manager for assistance.

According to CBS News, the Palisades Fire has become the largest wildfire in the region, burning nearly 20,000 acres since it ignited on Tuesday morning, January 7, 2025, in the affluent Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The LA County Sheriff's Department reported that 180,000 people have been evacuated, and another 200,000 are under evacuation warnings. The wildfire has claimed ten lives, and LA Sheriff Robert Luna expressed concerns that the death toll may rise.

"It looks like an atomic bomb dropped in these areas. I don't expect good news, and we're not looking forward to those numbers... Unfortunately I think the death toll will rise. I hope I'm wrong. But I think it will rise," Luna said.

Additionally, private forecaster AccuWeather has estimated the damage and economic loss from the wildfire to be between $135 billion and $150 billion.

This forecast signals a challenging recovery period and likely increases in homeowners' insurance costs. Mayor Karen Bass emphasized that the city is preparing to "aggressively rebuild the city of Los Angeles."
