Hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs allegedly blew up fellow rapper Kid Cudi's car with premeditated arson in early 2012, as per the details shared by prosecutors in Manhattan federal court. Diddy was arrested in New York on September 16, after being charged with three counts of s*x trafficking and racketeering.

Combs' ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, filed a lawsuit against him in November 2023, accusing the rapper of sexual and physical assault. In her lawsuit, she recounted disturbing details about Diddy allegedly threatening to blow up Kid Cudi's car, because of his alleged qualms about Cudi's relationship with Ventura.

Federal agents detailed the alleged incident, claiming the hip-hop mogul's associates sliced open Kid Cudi's car while it stood on a driveway and installed a Molotov cocktail inside. The incident has reportedly been detailed in police and fire reports.

Witnesses also recalled hearing Sean Combs boast about the incident and his alleged involvement in blowing up Cudi's car. A spokeswoman for Kid Cudi further confirmed Ventura's claims as "all true."

Shortly after his arrest, Sean Combs faced charges of racketeering, s*x trafficking by coercion or fraud, and transportation to involve in prostitution, at Manhattan federal court. The rapper pleaded not guilty to all the charges, but his appeal for bail was denied. Diddy is currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center.

The criminal charges against Sean Diddy Combs go back to November 2023, when his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura filed a lawsuit against the hip-hop mogul. Ventura's lawsuit accused Combs of multiple instances of alleged s*xual assault, rape, and physical abuse, from 2007 to 2018.

Ventura detailed “a cycle of abuse, violence, and sex trafficking,” and claimed that she was coerced into an “ostentatious, fast-paced, and drug-fueled lifestyle” against her will.

However, a day after filing the lawsuit, Ventura and Diddy settled it outside court. In her statement, Ventura said:

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control.”

In the months following Ventura's lawsuit, Diddy faced several other lawsuits, alleging that he physically and sexually abused his victims. An anonymous woman and Joi Dickerson-Neal accused the rapper of s*xual assault in November 2023.

In the same month, Combs resigned as the chair of Revolt, the TV network founded by him. Subsequently, Hulu canceled a series that was supposed to focus on Diddy and his family.

After multiple lawsuits were filed against him, Sean Combs denied all charges in December 2023. He said in a statement:

“I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.”

In February 2024, producer Rodney Jones filed new charges against Diddy, claiming the rapper coerced him into a homosexual relationship when they worked together for his 2023 album, The Love Album: Off the Grid.

In March 2024, Combs' properties in Miami and Los Angeles were raided by federal agents as a part of their investigation of s*x trafficking charges. The rapper was not actually charged with any crimes at this stage.

Subsequently, in May 2024, CNN released footage involving Diddy and his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, in a California hotel. The video featured the rapper physically abusing Ventura, including kicking her in the hotel lobby. Amid the controversy, Diddy shared a video on his Instagram account, taking full responsibility for his actions, and apologizing for the same.

In the following months, from May to September, multiple other lawsuits were filed against Sean Combs, charging him with s*xual assault. Model Crystal McKinney and musician Dawn Richard also charged the rapper with counts of s*xual abuse during this period.

On September 16, 2024, Sean Diddy Combs was finally arrested in New York, after being charged with three counts of s*x trafficking and racketeering. At his hearing, US attorney Damian Williams spoke about the rapper's alleged violent means, and said:

“Combs and other members and associates of the Enterprise were also capable of premeditated violence, resorting to kidnapping and arson when his power and control were threatened. His violence—whether spontaneous or premeditated—had the effect of exerting his continued control over these individuals.”

The federal indictment described Sean and his associates' operation as “a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in, and attempted to engage in, among other crimes, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.”

As of now, Sean Combs has been detained at the Metropolitan Detention Centre, and his appeals for bail have been rejected.
