Diddy was spotted in Miami after his apology video for the 2016 Cassie Ventura assault video
TMZ reports that Sean Love Combs was spotted strolling and relaxing in Miami. When the reporters inquired about his well-being, suggesting everyone was worried about him, the rapper showed a thumbs-up sign, reflecting that he was fine.
Later in that clip, a reporter asked about the surveillance video, saying, "We are just trying to figure out what's going on." In response, Diddy did not comment on the query but instead showed an "L" sign.
"Love. Have a good day," Diddy responded to the reporter.
His public appearance in Miami comes right after he issued a heartfelt apology for his involvement in an alleged assault video from 2016 involving his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.
In an Instagram video released on May 19, 2024, Sean Love said he "hit rock bottom" and will make no excuse. He further said that his behavior is "inexcusable" and that he will take full responsibility for what was shown in the video.
"It's so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you gotta do that. I was f*cked up. I hit rock bottom, and I make no excuses," Diddy said.
"My behaviour on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I'm disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it. I'm disgusted now," he added.
He added that he is trying to be a better man each day and has asked the Divine for mercy on him.
"I had asked God for his mercy and grace. I'm so sorry. I'm committed to be a better man each and every day. I'm not asking for forgiveness. Truly sorry," he said.
As per CNN, Sean Love Combs had previously denied the allegations of assault by Cassie Ventura. Following the apology, the lawyer of Ventura, Meredith Firetog, suggested that Diddy's apology statement is more about himself than the people he has hurt.
"Combs' most recent statement is more about himself than the many people he has hurt. When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a payday," Meredith Firetog said.
"That he was only compelled to apologize once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words," she added.
The video clip released by CNN combines footage from multiple angles from March 5, 2016, at a now-closed hotel, InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.
As per CNN, in the clip, Cassie exits the hotel room and walks towards the elevator. The rapper follows her, wrapped in a towel only, grabs her neck from behind, and throws her on the floor. The video shows Diddy kicking Cassie when she falls to the ground.
Diddy then picked up the duffle bag and a purse from the ground and dragged Cassie by her sweatshirt towards the room. From a different angle of the video, the rapper can be seen going to the hotel room and returning to Cassie, where his former partner grabbed her phone and tried to make a phone call. He later can be seen throwing objects at her.
As per Marca, Cassie filed a lawsuit against the rapper in November 2023 but settled just one day after filing the case.
The rapper has not yet addressed the comments made by Cassie's lawyer and has not engaged with reporters thus far.
