Amid the slew of legal cases against Sean "Diddy" Combs, his son Justin Combs is facing a $190k lawsuit. Per a Wednesday, October 16, 2024, report by In Touch Weekly citing court documents, Porsche Leasing LTD served the 30-year-old and his JDC Holdings Group in June of this year at his father's home in Beverly Hills.
Per the publication, the complaint was over missed payments on a 2022 Bentley Bentayga V8 that he leased in January 2022. The luxury car company demanded Justin pay $172,000 (approx) in missed payments and an additional $13,000 in interest fees.
However, earlier this week, Porsche Leasing LTD reportedly asked the court to grant a default judge against Diddy's son for $190,226.25.
As news of the lawsuit made headlines, internet users were quick to react. One joked that the 30-year-old missed the payment because:
"Diddy probably cut his allowance."
Netizens continued to claim the rapper's money was going towards his own legal fees. One even quipped that the cat company wanted to collect their money before the family ran out of money.
However, others who spoke in support of Justin Combs. They commented that people should leave the 30-year-old alone as it's not their business, with many noting that several people miss their payments.
Attorney for Justin Combs stated the payments were "unintentionally" missed due to an address change
Per the lawsuit, Justin Combs leased the Bentley in January 2022, with Diddy's son agreeing to make 42 payments of $3,365.23. However, he defaulted last December after failing to make his payment due on the 20th of the month.
Per In Touch Weekly, as a result, Porche demanded that he pay the rest of the amount due on the car, claiming they were allowed to do so if a default occurred. It stated that the company retained the right to take possession of the vehicle. Quoting the complaint, the publication wrote:
"Therefore, there is now due, owing and unpaid from the Defendant the approximate sum of $172,601.43, plus additional charges pursuant to the terms of the Agreement. Interest accrues from December 20, 2023, at the legal rate of 10% per annum, until paid in full."
At the time, Justin Combs' lawyer Jeffrey Lichtman, in a statement made to the publication, explained that the payments were missed as his client allegedly did not receive the bill due to an "address change." Calling it "unintentionally missed payments," he added:
"We are in touch with the creditor and the matter is being settled. The outstanding balance will be paid and the lawsuit will be dropped."
Per In Touch Weekly, following Porsche's request that the court grant a default judgment against Justin Combs last week, a lawyer for the company told the publication the lawsuit "is in the process of being resolved."
