On September 18, 2024, Diddy appeared in court to appeal his denied release. U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson argued he should remain in custody, presenting alleged texts from Diddy to Cassie. She shared alleged texts from 2016 and requested that Sean Combs be held without bond.

Johnson recounted an incident from 2016 when Combs physically assaulted Cassie in a hallway at the InterContinental Hotel in LA, a video of which was previously shared by news outlets like CNN.

Furthermore, as per XXL Magazine, Emily Johnson also claimed that there was a “commercial s*x worker” inside the room when the assault with Cassie, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend took place. Johnson then claimed that just after the assault incident, Diddy pleaded to Cassie not to go to the police to report the same.

The attorney also provided proof for the same, as she read out the texts out loud in the court:

"Immediately after the assault, the defendant sent the text messages, 'Call me the cops are here...I got six kids...Yo, please call I am surrounded...You gonna abandon me all alone. The defendant knew he had done something that could elicit a police response."

For the unversed, Diddy AKA Sean Combs was hit with several lawsuits from women who claimed that he used them for s*x trafficking, and had assaulted them physically, mentally, and s*xually. The many lawsuits and allegations against the rapper came in after his ex-girlfriend, Cassie filed a lawsuit against him for the same reasons in November 2023.

Emily Johnson claimed in the court that Diddy used the explicit footage of his victims to blackmail them

As Diddy appeared in the court once again, after his bail bond was denied, US attorney Emily Johnson dug deeper into why he should not be granted bail. As per The Shade Room, the lawyer claimed that Combs used to film his victims, and then blackmail them to release their explicit videos.

She also talked about the viral video from 2016, where the rapper could be seen in towels, and alleged that he was engaging in a “freak off” just before the incident took place. Furthermore, just after the incident, as Diddy started texting Cassie, she responded to the rapper stating how badly she was bruised because of the incident.

Furthermore, the rapper's lawyer, Marc Agifilio responded to Johnson’s claims by stating how Cassie and Combs mutually agreed to call the “third party.”

On the other hand, as the surveillance video where Sean Combs can be seen beating Cassie went viral in May 2024, the rapper instantly issued an apology for his actions, and claimed that his “behaviour on that video is inexcusable."

In a now-deleted Instagram video, he had said:

"It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that. I was fuc*ed up — I mean, I hit rock bottom — but I make no excuses. My behaviour in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I'm disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now.”

As per TMZ, Diddy, who is currently in the Metropolitan Detention Center, in Brooklyn, reportedly filed for bail as his lawyers submitted a $50 million bond, which was co-signed by Combs, his mother, sister, brother, and even his kids.

The bail package included his passport, terms of his home detention, weekly drug testing, and even a visitor log. However, the package was denied and rejected by the judges.
