Diddy's attorney, Marc Agnifilo, spoke to TMZ for their upcoming documentary The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment, and confirmed that the music mogul was up for testifying in court and taking the witness stand. Agnifilo stated that Combs would reveal everything about his part of the story.
The lawyer said:
"I don’t know that I could keep him off the stand. I think he is very eager to tell his story and I think he will tell every part of his story, including what you see on the video. So I expect it’s going to be explained by the both of us."
If Combs took to the stand, he could face cross-questioning on several controversies, including the Cassie Ventura assault footage that went viral this May 2024. Agnifilo, however, claimed that he had confidence in the rapper's statements. According to TMZ, Combs' story was filled with "love, hurt and heartbreak."
Marc Agnifilo was then asked about the possibility of Combs being asked about the alleged "freak off parties" while on the stand. To this, he replied:
"He has his story. And he has a story that I think only he can tell in the way that he can tell it, in real time. And it’s a human story, it’s a story of love, it’s a story of hurt, it’s a story of heartbreak."
The lawyer further weighed in on Combs' relationship with Cassie Ventura, saying they were both heartbroken. Meanwhile, it is important to note that Diddy's bail package had been denied by the judge, and was supposed to stay behind bars until the trial began on his charges.
Marc Agnifilo is set to appear for an interview for the upcoming documentary about Sean "Diddy" Combs
As mentioned before, Marc Agnifilo, Combs' lawyer had told TMZ that he was "eager" to give his testimony on the case and the grave allegations made against the mogul. It had further been reported that Agnifilo is expected to appear for an interview with TMZ, that is supposed to air on September 26.
In the interview, Agnifilo claimed that the US government was trying to ruin a successful Black man. The lawyer reportedly will state:
"I don't know that I could keep him off the stand. I think he is very eager to tell his story, and I think he will tell every part of his story, including what you see on the video. So I expect it's going to be explained by the both of us."
TMZ's The Downfall of Diddy, The Indictment was supposed to be available on Tubi on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
Sean "Diddy" Combs was recently indicted last year on Monday. A number of grave charges had been filed against him, including those related to s*x trafficking. Amid all this, Combs and his former bodyguard Joseph Sherman had also been named in a new lawsuit filed by a Texas woman named Thalia Graves.
Graves claimed that the duo had drugged and s*xually assaulted her back in 2001.
