DJ Akademiks says Adin Ross has donated $10K to Kendrick Lamar's cousins' grandparents, who needed a new hospital bed and wheelchair

In a tweet on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, DJ Akademiks seemingly slammed Kendrick Lamar, claiming that streamer Adin Ross had donated $10,000 for a wheelchair and a hospital bed to Lamar's relatives.

"Adin Ross has donated $10,000 to Kendrick Lamar cousins grandparents who started a gofundme asking for a new hospital bed and wheel chair. Adin Ross doing more for Kendrick family than he is🙏🏽"

DJ Akademiks also shared a clip of the alleged relative, Hitta J3. In the tweet, Hitta thanked Adin for the donation and mentioned that it was his grandfather's birthday. Akademiks posted another screenshot indicating that Ross had donated $10,000 through GoFundMe.

The tweet quickly went viral, amassing over 75.5K views and over 1,200 likes. Kendrick Lamar’s alleged cousin and singer Hitta J3 had previously shared a tweet asking for help for their grandfather. The tweet, dated January 11, read:

"Our grandparents need A Hospital bed & A New wheelchair he can’t walk at all we appreciate everyone doing they’re part to help out together we can Accomplish anything."

The tweet had a GoFundMe link attached to it. However, Hitta later tweeted that he was not raising money for his own grandparents. On January 13, Hitta shared another tweet that said:

"I told y’all that’s not even my family I’m just realer than most to advertise they are I consider anybody with the same color skin as Family."

Kendrick Lamar has not reacted to the situation as of now.

Hitta J3, a friend of Kendrick Lamar, has previously been in the headlines for his issues with Ice, the co-host of The Joe Budden Podcast. According to reports by HotNewHipHop, dated January 12, 2025, the issues started after Ice made certain statements.

Ice claimed that Lamar should not have included Hitta on his latest album, GNX. During The Joe Budden Podcast, Ice explained his comments about Hitta J3.

"I said, 'I wish dude didn't put son on his album.' But, it seem like everybody knew what I was talking about. And everybody tagged the dude I was referring to... So, he just went on a whole... He was like, 'Yo, if you don't like what I said, do something about it.' I did. I muted you, so I won't see you anymore," Ice said.

Hitta J3, whose real name is Dominicke Williams, gained fame after GNX was released. According to reports by HotNewHipHop dated January 12, 2025, Hitta is working on new music and collaborations with fellow GNX collaborator Lefty Gunplay.

The outlet also claimed that Hitta is the younger brother of Lamar's late best friend.
