YFN Lucci's shooting video from 2020 has gone viral on social media and is getting a lot of public attention. The clip was acquired by WSB-TV on July 23, 2024, and the rapper's attorney Drew Findling has applied for his immediate release from prison.
The viral video featured a white car that seemingly had Lucci inside alongside an unknown individual wearing a neon green outfit. Meanwhile, the vehicle stopped near the man and another person came out from the rear side of the car with a weapon in his hand.
The other person immediately started firing the gun and the victim tried to save himself by shooting in return. The car then slowly drives away from the street. However, an official confirmation is currently awaited on whether the driver in the car was YFN Lucci.
The shooting video was shared by podcaster DJ Akademiks on his social media pages. Netizens have also reacted in the comments section of Akademiks' post on Instagram and one of them also wrote:
"Doing a drill in a Maybach?"
Similar reactions were posted by the public with a user expressing his shock at the events in the video. Another user stated that they would run for his life if a black suburban stopped in front of him in the future.
Back in January this year, YFN Lucci pleaded guilty to the RICO charges that were imposed on him in 2021. Findling told XXL Magazine at the time that Lucci entered a plea deal to one charge related to his links to a gang. Drew also stated:
"As he maintained for three years now, Mr. Bennett will not cooperate in any other case. By entering into this resolution, he will be eligible for parole in as early as four months from now. The prosecution has also agreed that he should be released early on parole and this will allow him to get back to his children, family and career."
YFN Lucci's attorney shares his response to the viral shooting video
As mentioned, YFN Lucci's shooting video has been obtained by WSB-TV and his attorney Drew Findling told the outlet that it can offer some help to him. Drew even claimed that this was one of the reasons his case was dismissed by the District Attorney's Office.
Also known as Rayshawn Lamar Bennett, he is currently serving his time in prison after being sentenced to 20 years in January this year. Meanwhile, he is expected to be released earlier than expected since the District Attorney of Fulton County has already sent a letter for the same to the Parole Board on June 11, 2024.
Drew addressed the same while speaking to WSB-TV, adding that the release is not expected to happen until January next year. He also stated:
"That letter from the district attorney is a powerful punch and is really at the heart of the letter and supporting documents and the memorandum that we have shared with the parole board."
On the other hand, the District Attorney later stated that YFN Lucci should not be denied release from prison after he is "eligible for parole or after serving one-third of his prison sentence." The letter also says:
"The recommendation by the State is conditioned upon the Defendant's compliance with the lawful authority of all Department of Corrections personnel and having had no incidents of any kind in any facility in which he has been housed while in the custody of the Department of Corrections."
YFN Lucci was arrested in May 2021 on several charges emerging from an investigation that was conducted for six months. Furthermore, a total of 12 people were charged who were allegedly associated with the Bloods gang.
