"Don't you got 21 tatted?" — Fans react as Latto addresses speculation over her relationship with 21 Savage

During a recent episode of the Apple Music podcast The Ebro Show, Latto addressed speculations over her relationship with fellow rapper 21 Savage. While she neither confirmed nor denied it, she clarified that she liked to keep her personal life away from the limelight.

“The internet don’t know a god*mn thing. Let’s start there. But um, I like being private. I think um it really ain’t nobody’s business. Like, listen to the music and you’ll know, what you need to know,” the 'Sugar Honey Iced Tea' rapper said.

Her comments come in the wake of viral images and clips revealing her behind-the-ear tattoo reading “Sheyaa” (dates back to February 2023), which incidentally happens to be 21 Savage’s real name, aka Sheyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph. Meanwhile, 21 Savage also got a tattoo saying “Alyssa” in January 2024, which netizens assume is after Latto’s original name, Alyssa Michelle Stephens.

Despite her latest comments, fans of the rapper are continuing to speculate on the nature of her relationship with 21 Savage. Instagram user @gottafollowhim wrote in The Shade Room’s comment section:

Several others joined in the conversation on the platform. Some chimed in, saying that if she wants to keep her personal life private, she should stop speaking about it or portraying it on social media.

Others pointed out that she was “secretive” about it because the man she is dating is married, or he doesn’t want to make it public.

Elsewhere in the interview, the Pittstop Clothing founder got candid about finding a "special" someone who "uplifts" her and helps her be her "soft" and "submissive" self.

Speculations surrounding Latto and 21 Savage’s relationship first emerged in 2020

In December 2020, rumors of Latto dating 21 Savage first arose online after they posted vacation pictures from the same location around the same time. Three months later, 21 Savage took to his Instagram Story and reposted a picture from Latto’s account showing her exiting a Hermes store and posing with a victory/peace sign as she smiled for the camera.

In his caption, 21 Savage wrote, “No makeup [heart eyes emoji] dam u fine it’s only 1 way 1 can come bout you twin.” While he removed the post soon after, fans of the duo began to speculate about their alleged romantic involvement.

In July of that year, Latto’s friend and fellow rapper Dream Doll name-dropped her and hinted at the former’s relationship with Savage. She rapped, “And Mulatto, yeah, that’s my lil’ honey bun/ Asked her how many times she came, she said, 21, 21.”

Over the years, the former Rap Game cast member and 21 Savage have also attended each other’s birthdays despite their busy schedules and featured on each other in singles such as Pull Up and Wheelie. He also showered support on her following the release of her Big Energy music video, calling it “hard” and referring to her as the “Queen of the A.”

Notably, in 2022, Latto told Wild 94.1 that fans were speculating that she was dating 21 Savage because they often collaborate. Likewise, Savage told during the Clubhouse podcast that he didn’t have a “celebrity girlfriend.”
