The clip came after the announcement that Snoop Dogg will be a torchbearer for the Olympics 2024 on July 23, 2024. The rapper reached Paris, France, as he was elected the Olympic flame's final torchbearer.

Snoop Dogg, as the torchbearer for the Olympics 2024:

On Tuesday, Mathieu Hanotin, the President of Plaine Commune, announced on X that at Saint-Denis, the final stop before the Eiffel Tower, Snoop Dogg will be carrying the Olympic flame, being the torchbearer.

According to the Olympics, the torchbearer is responsible for paving the way for the games and celebrations. The torchbearers will have to hold the Olympic and Paralympic Flames while on the roads of France. Moreover, the bearers are also responsible for launching the celebration throughout the country.

As per Euro News, Snoop Dogg agreed to be the torchbearer as it reminded him of Muhammad Ali, the legendary American professional boxer who passed away in 2016 and who famously lit the cauldron at the 1996 Atlanta Games.

"It was emotional for all of us to see the champ holding that torch and walking up there," Snoopy said.

Moreover, after the announcement, Snoopy reflected on his emotions during a call with sportscaster Mike Tirico and Molly Solomon, executive producer and president of NBC Olympics Production. The rapper suggested that this is his version and will show why the authorities made him do it. Snoopy further indicated that he will put all his "resources" and "energy" into it.

"This is my own version of it. I don't want to get too emotional, but I know that this is special. I'm going to show you why they made me the man to do it. I'm going to put all of my resources and energy around it with peace, love and harmony. That's what the Olympics is all about. I feel like that's why they chose me. That's what I represent," Snoopy said.

Speaking about holding a torch, Snoop Dogg suggested that he will breathe slowly so he can walk fast. Further added that he will keep a smile on his face because he knows how "prestigious" the event is.

"I'm going to be on my best behaviour. I'm going to be on my best athleticism. I'll be able to breathe slow to walk fast and hold the torch with a smile on my face because I realize how prestigious this event is," Snoopy said.

This Friday, torch carriers included French actress Laetitia Casta, French rapper MC Solaar, and Ukrainian retired pole-vaulter Sergey Bubka.

The 2024 Summer Olympics will end on August 11, 2024.
