American rapper and singer Azealia Banks has made it to the headlines, through a tweet that she posted on X, on January 10, 2025. Banks' tweet was actually in response to another tweet shared by a netizen with the username (@jakk0b_). In the tweet originally shared on January 3, 2025, the user wrote:

"It really took a dashing brilliant mind such as @azealiaslacewig for me to understand why Drake May not have won the battle but won the war."

Azealia noticed this remark and did not hold herself back from reverting.

According to Azealia Banks, Kendrick could never land a multi-million dollar deal like Drake had with UMG. She believed that this was primarily why many people were hating on Drizzy. In the first tweet, Banks wrote:

"Drake already won the war by virtue of Kendrick Lamar..."

She added:

"Drake has his finger on the pulse of the world. There are dudes... telling women they are from Italy - aspiring to be Drake and or 50cent. Kendrick doesn’t have that kind of global appeal."

The rapper came up with a lengthy series of tweets where she particularly wrote about the much talked about beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, that happened last year.

Azealia Banks highlighted that Drake's ability to write simple lyrics for his songs got him immense popularity

As aforementioned, Azealia Banks shared multiple tweets about Drake and Kendrick Lamar. In the first one, she spoke about how Lamar could never be as popular as Drake on a global level, while in the second one, she further gave her detailed insights.

Referring to artists, like Drake, Ye, and 50 Cent, Azealia said they were "masters" of pending down simple lyrics. She wrote:

"The trick is really in making songs with lyrics that are simple enough for non English speakers to be able to use the songs as a Rosetta Stone of sorts."

She then described Kendrick's style of writing from her perspective. According to her, Lamar used "radical, mathematical, casual, non-factual, back packy words" in his tracks, which non-English speakers wouldn't relate to. She added:

"I also think his engineers leave too much high end on his vocal mixes when he’s doing that bone thugs n harmony sh*t which kinda overly emphasizes his small stature and makes him a bit “mouse-y” in comparison to his contemporaries."

While somewhere in the tweet, Azealia Banks described Kendrick Lamar as a "talented MC", she went on to mention some tracks by artists, like Drake and 50 Cent, and described them to belong to a whole "different category". According to Banks, the "simplicity" in the songs got "them a different level of prestige."

Azealia Banks further suggested a few genres of songs that Kendrick could work on. According to her, Lamar could come up with some "fun big band melodic hiphop/pop anthems." In the third tweet, Azealia even claimed that people outside the United States never cared much about the beef.

Just a few days back, on January 4, Azealia Banks took a dig at Kendrick Lamar for not making peace with Drake. According to Banks, Lamar should sort it out with Drizzy in "good sportsmanship."
