Tory Lanez recently expressed love for Drake in a new track with DDG titled Handling Business. The song, which premiered on December 13, 2024, featured a verse from the incarcerated rapper who is currently serving his 10-year sentence after being convicted of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020.

On December 12, DDG teased the song on social media, posting a clip of him playing Lanez's recorded verse from a cell phone. This is the first track from Lanez after security guards seized his recording equipment while the rapper was working on his Prison Tapes series.

The full track was later released on all streaming platforms on December 13. Tory Lanez's verse featured a shoutout to Drake with the lyrics:

“I be up praying & waiting for the day that n****s come for me the way they did Drizzy/ I got the card in the wallet & big brodies problems are my problems so f**k how you feelin’ about it.”

Netizens speculated the lyrics referenced Drake's latest beef with rapper Kendrick Lamar. The verse was met with mixed responses, with one person claiming the Canadian rapper would soon join Lanez in prison. This may be a reference to the child predator allegations that Drake faced during his diss battle with Lamar.

"Drake gonna join him in that cell," the tweet read.

Many echoed this sentiment, with some netizens talking about how Drake handled the beef.

"P Drizzy is gonna be with you soon Tory no worries," one person tweeted.
"The only business he handled was getting destroyed in a rap battle and shifting his focus to other rappers on the biggest song he dropped," another person added.

One person commented on the hypocrisy of Lanez supporting Drake after the beef died down but staying quiet when it was ongoing. Others claimed Tory Lanez was no match for Kendrick Lamar.

"N****as wanna stick up for Drake now that the beef is over but was mad quiet when it was poppin off…" one person posted.
"FREE TORY so kendrick can shut his a** up," another person commented.
"yea kendrick is going to beef with a soundcloud clout chasing rapper who ain’t out till 2033 lmaooo," someone else wrote.

However, fans hoped for a collaboration between Drake and Tory Lanez.

"Now we need a collab," one fan posted.
"Drake and Tory will be unstoppable," another user added.

Drake supported Tory Lanez after his incarceration

Drake seemingly called for Tory Lanez to be freed on his Instagram Story in February 2024. According to Billboard, the rapper posted an image of the fellow Canadian rapper with the caption “3 you.” Lanez was found guilty of shooting Megan during his trial in 2022. Following this, the rapper received a 10-year sentence in August 2023.

Drake and Megan reportedly locked horns after the 2020 shooting. Many fans believed the Canadian rapper allegedly dissed Megan in his song Circo Loco from his 2022 album, Her Loss. In the song, he rapped:

“This b***h lie ’bout getting shots, but she still a stallion/ She don’t even get the joke/ But she still smiling.”

According to Variety, fans also speculated the line, “Shorty say she graduated, she ain’t learn enough / Play your album, Track 1, ‘kay I heard enough,” was another jab at the Houston rapper. This rumor emerged after she got her bachelor's degree from Texas Southern University in 2021.

Megan replied to the alleged shots on X, asking rappers to stop using her name "for clout." She claimed all "rap n****a are lame," accusing them of protecting their "homeboys" after they abused women. In November 2022, she tweeted:

"Stop using my shooting for clout b***h a** N****s! Since when tf is it cool to joke abt women getting shot ! You n****s especially RAP N****S ARE LAME! Ready to boycott bout shoes and clothes but dog pile on a black woman when she say one of y’all homeboys abused her."
"People attack me y’all go up for it , i defend myself now I’m doing too much … every time it never ends and this did NOT happen until I came out and said I got shot … y’all don’t fwm okay cool f**k it bye.” She added.

Speculations of a beef between the two rappers reemerged after the Canadian rapper's performance in the latter's hometown of Houston in September 2023. In a video circulated at the time, Drizzy shouted out his photographer named Meg, then clarified:

"Shout-out to Meg one time for real. Not that Meg, this Meg."

In January 2024, Megan Thee Stallion released her song Hiss, which many thought was a diss track against Nicki Minaj. However, some also alluded to the song dissing Drizzy with the lines:

"These n****s hate on BBLs and be walkin' 'round with the same scars/ Real curvy, no etchin', n****s fight to get in my section/ Don't speak on my body count if the d*ck ain't worth comin' back for seconds/ Cosplay gangsters, fake-a** accents/ Posted in another n***a hood like a bad b***h."

However, these are speculations and it is unclear if these lyrics were meant for Drizzy.
