The Hamptons saw Grammy-winning artist Drake partying with entrepreneur Michael Rubin mere hours after the release of Kendrick Lamar's highly-anticipated music video for Not Like Us.

On July 4, 2024, the same day Drake was seen partying, Lamar released the music video of his biggest hit from the Drake-Lamar rap battle. A clip shared online shows Drizzy casually talking and enjoying Rubin's all-white party. The gathering, which quickly became the talk of the town, involved Kendrick Lamar's music video release because Lamar and Drizzy had been in a lyrical battle for months this year. It was the most talked-about battle of the year in the hip-hop industry.

The two's beef escalated in March 2024 with Lamar's Like That, which was a response to Drizzy's First Person Shooter. In the meantime, both acclaimed rappers dropped multiple tracks aimed at each other, including Push Ups, Taylor Made Freestyle, Euphoria, 6:16 in LA, Family Matters, Meet the Grahams, and The Heart Pt. 6.

Not Like Us by Kendrick Lamar was the most talked-about track among all diss tracks. According to Billboard, it broke many streaming records and debuted at the top of the US Billboard Hot 100. It also reached the top spot in South Africa and peaked in the top 20 in Australia, Canada, and Europe. Not Like Us became Lamar's fourth number-one single and second of the year after Like That to chart in the US Top 100.

On Thursday, Drizzy was spotted partying and talking with multiple artists, including Glo Rilla. On May 18, 2024, Drake took to his Instagram Story and shared the unique invitation for the white party in the Hamptons by Rubin created by George Condo:

"Went from 1 bedroom condo to 1 of 1 condo @michaelrubin," he captioned.

According to Page Six, Rubin sent 300 black-and-white invitations for his party to guests in New York City and Los Angeles, numbered and signed by George Condo. According to reports, each invitation cost at least $35,000.

Video clips of Drake partying surfaced online following the release of Kendrick Lamar's Not Like Us on YouTube. Remarkably, within just 14 hours, the music video surpassed 13 million views. The Canadian rapper has yet to respond.

Kendrick Lamar shot the music video for his highly anticipated track in his hometown, Compton. The speculation about him filming the music video has been circulating since the end of June 2024. On June 17, 2024, Reggie Wright Jr., the former manager of Death Row Records, in the Bomb 1st podcast, claimed that Lamar was doing "something big":

"My fat shout out to Kendrick Lamar, I heard you doing something big big in Compton," Wright said.

Lamar did not confirm anything or comment on the speculation; instead, he dropped his official music video on YouTube. The video, which is roughly six minutes long, begins with Tommy the Clown letting Lamar into a metal room.

Once the rapper enters the room, he starts doing push-ups, allegedly taking a subtle jab at Canadian rapper Push Ups, as Drizzy referenced in his diss track a photo of Lamar doing the exercise as part of its rollout.

Moreover, another jab was noticed as Lamar hit an owl pinata, and a disclaimer came at the bottom referencing Drizzy's record label OVO and its symbol "owl":

"No OVHoes were harmed during the making of this video," the disclaimer reads in the music video.

As the fourth minute in the video clip starts, Whitney Alford, Kendrick Lamar, and their two children dance in a living room. This was considered a response to Drake's alleged remarks in Family Matters, where he suggested that Alford does not love Lamar and he does not father one of his children. In that specific clip, Lamar rapped:

"The family matter, and the truth of the matter. It was God's plan to show y'all the liar."

In addition, the last clip of the music video shows Lamar looking at an owl face-to-face, and the moment he moves, the clip shows the owl in a cage.

These observations were made from the lyrical battle between the two artists over the past few months. Neither artist has confirmed any details.
