On Monday, August 26, 2024, Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill flaunted his freestyle skills on Drake's Family Matters. A few hours later, he came up with another performance, where he freestyled on Kendrick Lamar's diss track Euphoria. While Mill played the Drake diss freestyle in his car, as reported by HotNewHipHop, he freestyled Euphoria while walking through a department store.
The freestyling on the diss tracks was posted on Instagram stories from the rapper's official handle. Meek Mill also wrote a caption which read:
"I did Kendrick and Drake beats for practice."
Meanwhile, the video went viral, gaining attention from netizens. They made several comments on social media platforms. Here are some of the online responses:
While many users had commented on Mill's freestyling Euphoria, many also expressed their take on him doing the same for Family Matters.
"This is actually better than the actual song family matters 😭😭." One user tweeted.
"Sounds like a lit freestyle!" added another tweet.
"That freestyle dub is awesome," said another netizen.
Meek Mill previously avoided taking sides in the beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar
The much-publicized rap beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar garnered attention from their respective fanbases and several celebrities. While artists like 50 Cent, Azealia Banks, and The Game sided with the Canadian rapper, Kendrick Lamar received support from Kanye West, Jay Rock, The Weeknd, and Metro Boomin.
However, Meek Mill was one of the artists who decided not to take a side in the beef. The rapper praised Lamar and Drake for their performances during the rap beef. In an article published by Complex in May, it was reported that along with complimenting Drake and K.Dot, Mill also praised himself for his rapping skills.
In a now-removed series of tweets posted back in May, while talking about himself and the rap beef, Meek Mill mentioned his PR situation. In the tweet, he revealed that he didn't have a publicist at that point, which reportedly led to his posts getting "unchecked" on the social media platform. In one of the tweets, he wrote,
"My PR has been off for a year or 2 so they mutating my name but when I'm gone they will give it up! Ima just keep grinding! [The] boy and Kendrick have their own lanes and qualities they great at also!"
In separate news, Meek Mill made it to the headlines after Michael Rubin's statements on The Breakfast Club went viral on the internet. In the interview, Rubin said,
"I think there's a little bit of Black culture where it's Black hate on hate. It's like that Black judge that Meek had, that hated on him and want to go extra hard on him."
This further made Mill respond to the comment, and he seemingly agreed with Michael Rubin's point of view.
