"Drake started it with her": Fans slam BNYX as rapper's collaborator calls out Serena Williams for trolling him at the ESPYs

Serena Williams recently trolled rapper Drake at the 2024 ESPYs. While taking center stage at the ESPYs on Thursday night, July 11, Williams gave a humorous performance.

The tennis icon, who dated the rapper in the past, didn't hold back while discussing their relationship or the current controversy involving Kendrick Lamar and him.

However, following this, BNYX, the rapper’s one of the recent collaborators, took to X to call out the former American Tennis player and wrote-

“This sh*t is getting old and corny.”

Nevertheless, the supporters of Williams weren’t a fan of the tweet. Hence, they took to the platform to bash the producer for his comment against her.

“Drake started it with her lol. Don’t cry now”, someone wrote.

“Drake dissed them unprovoked”, said another user.

“Stop crying he getting cooked all year deal with it nigga”, another one wrote

“Lmaoo you just on the losing side”, another X user wrote.

Other people also slammed BNYX.

“Yall wasn't saying that Drake was doing it to Meek… cry harder”, another one commented.

“Corny is when Drake…. mentioned her in his song in the first place”, another Williams supporter said.

“It wouldn’t be old and corny if it was a Drake record would it… haha yeah”, slammed another Williams fan.

Producer BNYX called out Serena Williams for making fun of Drake at the ESPYs

The 2024 ESPYs host, Serena Williams, highlighted the 6 God's well-publicized fight with Kendrick in her opening monologue. Williams and the One Dance singer have a past. TMZ reported that there was a rumor that the two dated back in 2015.

Now, on Thursday night, July 11, the tennis icon made fun of the rapper at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California, where she was asked to present awards to both seasoned players and up-and-coming talent.

Williams grabbed the stage alongside R&B artist Ciara during her opening performance to kick off the annual event. Then Williams, who was wearing a black floor-length gown, joked-

“If I’ve learned anything this year, it’s that none of us, not a single one of us, not even me, should ever pick a fight with Kendrick Lamar.”

She then started dancing to Kendrick Lamar's Not Like Us. She further went on to say-

“He will make your hometown not like you. The next time Drake sits courtside at a Raptors game, they’re going to Forrest Gump him. Seats taken.”

She said this referencing Kendrick Lamar's recent musical takedowns. Furthermore, the 23-time Grand Slam champion kept up her lighthearted repartee, dropping hints about the singer's possible trouble down the road.

She also told the audience-

“When they play that jam, I’m jamming. That jam is jamming. … You definitely Crip walking in that song. It’s so cool what he did though. Bringing everyone to the stage? That was incredible.”

Williams then went on to diss the OVO ring leader and joked-

“If I’ve learned anything this year, it’s that none of us — not a single one of us, not even me — should ever pick a fight with Kendrick Lamar.”

Following this Drake diss evening, the rapper’s producer BNYX tweeted about Williams, saying that it was getting old and corny.

Now, once the tweet went viral, Williams’ fans rushed to X to defend the Tennis player and bash the producer.
