Dua Lipa, who is in the middle of her ongoing Radical Optimism Tour's Asian leg, held her last two shows at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on November 23 and 24. During the concert, a fan reportedly sustained severe injuries after getting hit by a pyrotechnical metal tube.
The fan who reportedly attended the second show in Kuala Lumpur, took to Reddit and shared the incident. In the now-viral post, the Reddit user (DoggySmile69) wrote:
"I got hit in head by some pyrotechnical metal tube at Dua Lipa’s concert in Malaysia today."
He further shared a photo of himself with an injury in the head while he was getting medical help. The Reddit user further claimed that the incident happened within 15 minutes after Dua Lipa began performing.

The fan then wrote in the comments that he had to go to a hospital to get a CT scan and needed seven stitches along with a tetanus shot. The concertgoer also clarified that he had no skull fracture.
Further in the comments, the fan mentioned that another woman got hit by the same metal tube that injured him in the first place. He wrote:
"The tube ricocheted to her head after mine. Ironically she's Russian too. Some real karma sh*t, I guess."
The gig-goer shared on Reddit that he was approached by two men after the incident, who wanted to talk to him about compensation for concert tickets, hotel, and flight. The injured fan, who is Russian, instead preferred talking to the embassy and his lawyer first. He further confirmed that the men paid his medical bills.
The fan added that he didn't want to "ruin" Dua Lipa's reputation and just expected his fair share of compensation for "near death experience".
The injured gig-goer at Dua Lipa's show was asked to put down his Reddit post by people who claimed to be the concert authorities
The fan who put up the Reddit post talking about being injured at Dua Lipa's second concert in Kuala Lumpur also spoke to World Of Buzz about his traumatic experience. According to the fan, he purchased tickets to be close to the stage.
He added that the pyrotechnical metal tube was shooting confetti during the concert. He reportedly felt a blow to his head before even realizing that he was hit by the metal tube. His wife immediately called for help and he kept bleeding all the way to the ambulance. The security at the event took him and another woman who was also injured to the hospital.
The concertgoer then claimed that some men who claimed to be concert authorities arrived to pay his medical bills after he showed them his Reddit post. The individuals reportedly asked him to remove the post but he denied it.
He told World Of Buzz:
"Some guys (allegedly the concert authorities) showed up later and paid my medical bills. I showed them my Reddit post, and they asked me to take it down, but I refused. I got their contact numbers, and they offered to drive me back to my hotel, but I declined and took a taxi instead.”
The Reddit user decided to visit the Russian embassy to decide his next steps.
As for Dua Lipa's upcoming shows on her ongoing tour, her next scheduled shows are set to happen in Seoul, South Korea, on December 4 and 5. The Asian leg of the tour will end with the shows in Seoul.
In 2025, Dua Lipa is expected to perform in several European countries, Australia, and the USA.
