Lady Gaga's fans were recently left disappointed after her movie Gaga Chromatica Ball didn't receive a nomination in the Emmy Awards. The movie covered Gaga's September 2022 performance at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California. The show was further a part of her latest tour titled The Chromatic Ball Tour which took place to support her 2020 album Chromatica.

Since the decision was revealed, fans have been quite vocal about their opinions on social media. Many expressed their disappointment at the news. One fan wrote on X,

"F*cking EMMY'S snubbed Gaga again... I'm f*cking done, they always give "Variety Special" to all the Awards Ceremonies (Grammy's, Oscars, Tony's, Superbowl Halftime Show) and one f*cking sneak amidst all of them..."
"It also sucks that my Queen @ladygaga’s Chromatica got zero Emmys nominations but she’ll always say to me," read another tweet.
"@ladygaga not getting an Emmy nomination for the #ChromaticaBallFilm is criminal! Come on @TelevisionAcad!," wrote another netizen.
"It's their loss lol," read another tweet.

While a lot of people expressed their disappointment on social media, many believed that the decision was right that Lady Gaga's movie didn't get a nomination. One user said:

"I honestly don’t know what she was hoping to achieve with this. It was nothing we didn’t see before, for those who attended the show at least..."
"It was so boring that I could not last through half of it!" stated another user.

With the nominations being released on July 17, it could be noticed that Shōgun received a huge number of nominations under most categories. The Bear, Only Murders In The Building, and The Crown also led the nominations this time. While Lady Gaga's Gaga Chromatica Ball didn't receive a single nomination, The Weeknd's The Idol also received one.

More about Lady Gaga's Gaga Chromatica Ball film

Lady Gaga's Chromatica Ball Tour, on which the concert film was based on, was postponed several times due to pandemic. While the album Chromatica was released in May 2020, the tour happened in the summer of 2022. Gaga made the tour extra special by making a concert film out of it, which was then exclusively released on HBO. The tour itself became the highest grossing one in Lady Gaga's entire career.

The film received a 96% rating from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, from more than 250 reviews. Coleman Spilde from The Daily Beast gave a review on Rotten Tomatoes, where he wrote,

"This new special replicates all of the excitement that swirled around the singer in those early years. It’s an exhilarating watch from start to finish, bolstering an already stellar show with trippy editing and crisp, stylistic filmmaking."

Nina Rosenstein from HBO spoke about the movie, after working with Lady Gaga on it. According to Nina,

"Lady Gaga is a complete powerhouse. She’s a once-in-a-lifetime artist who never holds back, and ‘Gaga Chromatica Ball’ puts her endless list of talents on full display."
