Days after Taylor Swift announced her endorsement of Kamala Harris, Megyn Kelly gave a piece of her mind about the singer's decision. Right after the presidential debate on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, the former FOX host took to her eponymous podcast to express her dislike for the Folklore singer and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, stating:

"Taylor and her boyfriend Travis Kelce, are the epitomes of elite snobs. They both have gazillions of dollars. She doesn't care what happens to these kids (who take gender-affirming medical care), just like he doesn't give a sh*t what happens to all the young men who take the Pfizer booster he's been pushing on them."

In the podcast, Megyn Kelly referenced Kelce's 2023 commercial for the Pfizer Covid vaccine. She also called out Swift for supporting Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, who signed a law protecting minors who seek gender-affirming medical care.

Kelly added:

"You can kiss your sales to the Republican audience goodbye, Taylor; hope you enjoyed them while you had them."

To be noted, the political commentator echoed Donald Trump's statement made during his interview with Fox News on Wednesday, where he stated that there may "be a price for it (endorsing Harris) in the marketplace."

"This is disgusting"—Megyn Kelly slams Taylor Swift for her political stance

Immediately after Tuesday's debate, Taylor Swift took to her Instagram to announce her support for Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, in the upcoming elections. She explained that a fake AI-generated image of her endorsing Donald Trump was making the rounds on social media, adding that she wanted to lay the misinformation to rest.

Swift explained that she would be voting for Harris as she supported the right. The singer-songwriter also praised Walz, stating she "was heartened and impressed" because he stood for "LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades." Megyn Kelly criticized this reasoning, stating:

"This is disgusting. If she wants to vote Harris-Walz, she can do it all she wants, but to say the reason she is doing it is because of Tim Walz's stance on LGBTQ... F you, Taylor Swift."

Specifically referring to Swift's comment about Walz and his support for LGBTQ+ rights, the political commentator went on about gender-affirming medical care for minors. She remarked:

"So this woman is fine with his plan to take custody of the children from parents, who don’t want them to chop off their body parts, and put them in Minnesota court custody so the body parts can be chopped off and they can be sterilized outside the custody of their parents."

Kelly is referring to the trans refuge bill that Walz, the governor of Minnesota, signed last year. Per a March 2023 article by the Independent, the law aims to protect transgender people seeking gender-affirming care in the state. It allows those seeking and providing such care from being punished by other states.

Additionally, the law grants the court "temporary emergency jurisdiction" in case a custody dispute that crosses state lines arises (when the child is unable to obtain gender-affirming care).

It is to be noted that this does not mean that the children of parents who do not want their child to receive such care would be taken from them. According to the Independent, it rather allows courts to intervene in cases of conflicts between parents and children about whether the child should receive care across state lines.

Taylor Swift signed off her endorsement Instagram post with the phrase, "childless, cat lady." This was a reference to Donald Trump's running mate, JD Vance, who, in a 2021 interview with Fox News, called Kamala Harris and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez "childless cat ladies."

Taylor Swift has not publicly reacted to Megyn Kelly's comments.
