In an unpredicted incident at the Sisters Rodeo in Oregon, a rodeo bull jumped the fence and charged into the crowd, injuring three spectators.
The video of the June 8, 2024, incident has quickly gone viral on X. In the videos captured by eventgoers, a rodeo bull unexpectedly broke free from its enclosure during a traditional rodeo event. He leaped over the fence, entering the spectator area of 5,500 people, as Lee Greenwood's patriotic anthem God Bless the USA played in the background. As per CBS reports, three people suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were quickly rushed to the hospital.
Eyewitnesses captured the dramatic moment on their phones, whereas netizens on X have been inundated with memes and comments suggesting that the rodeo "bull hates Lee Greenwood."
"This bull f**king hates Lee Greenwood as much as I do," one wrote.
"A rodeo bull attacking spectators while Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless The USA” plays in the background is a real messed up metaphor for something," another on X.
"Can’t really blame the bull here. That Lee Greenwood song has been played to death and adopted by the White Nationalists as their anthem. It’s plenty enough to drive a steer insane," third said.
"So much to unpack here. Lee Greenwood song playing is hilarious. And the guy going after the bull is great," forth suggested.
God Bless the USA is an American patriotic song by Lee Greenwood, released in 1984. This song plays in the background in the videos that went viral from Sisters Rodeo. However, netizens dislike it because, as per the Washington Post, it is the worst song written, as it has sparked allegations of bias and discrimination.

The frightening incident captured: Rodeo bull jumped into the fence and injured crowd members
A Sisters Rodeo event in Oregon took an unexpected and alarming turn over the weekend when a rodeo bull jumped the fence and ran into the crowd, as per video captured by onlookers.
Sisters Rodeo released a statement on Facebook, suggesting that the incident occurred during the final section of the bull riding. The statement further indicates that the rodeo announcer quickly activated the emergency plan, and the rodeo bull ran through the ground.
"On Saturday, June 8, 2024, during the final section of the bull riding event at the Sisters Rodeo, a bull jumped a fence. The rodeo announcer immediately activated the emergency response plan. The bull ran out through the rodeo grounds and back to the livestock holding pens," the statement read.
As per KTVZ, the exact moment of the incident was shortly before 10 p.m. at the 84th Sisters Rodeo. In the video circulating, the rodeo bull traditionally took a round of the ground but suddenly hopped and ran over the crowd.
One of the eventgoers, Danielle Smithers, recalled the incident with KOIN TV and said the rodeo bull was casually making its loop around the ground, but at the second loop, the bull "goes over the fence."
"And about 30 seconds into it, I stopped and I looked at it, and I thought to myself, 'this is just too beautiful not to have a video.' I started recording the bull, just following him, making his loop and as he started coming around his second loop in my video, he goes right over" the fence. I capture him completely going over the gate and disappearing," Smithers told KOIN.
The statement from Sisters Rodeo further suggested that the first aid and care service immediately attended to the affected people.
"The Rodeo Sports Medicine Team, Sisters-Camp Sherman RFPD, and Cloverdale RFPD, rodeo staff, and local law enforcement responded immediately with first aid and care."
However, another video circulating on X depicts the bull running through a concession area, knocking over a garbage can, colliding with a bystander, and dragging the individual to the other side of the area. Additionally, the footage shows a rodeo livestock professional on horseback attempting to calm the bull.
A spokesperson for the Rodeo Sisters, Brian Witt, spoke to KOIN TV about the incident, suggesting that the team was able to open the right gate so the bull could move away from the spectator. However, what they could not control was an "athletic bull jumping six feet." Witt called it a "rare accident."
"We were able to open the right gates so that the bull could get out of the spectator area and then it was retained immediately right after that. We prevented everything we could, but we just can't prevent a very athletic bull jumping six feet over a fence. It's very rare. It rarely happens. But it does happen," Witt told KOIN.
As per CBS News, contacting Sisters Radeo officials to gain information about the potential investigation remains unsuccessful.
The 84th Sisters Rodeo's final performance on Sunday, June 9, 2024, went on as scheduled.
