Well-known rapper Kevin Gates is trending online after he was spotted reportedly hitting an individual in a viral video. The victim was revealed to be a YouTuber named Wayon and he shared the clip through his YouTube channel, on August 16, 2024. The video has received around 1,900 views until now.

The incident happened inside the Topanga Mall in California, and it resulted from a prank planned by Wayon on Gates. The video started with Wayon entering and exploring the mall for some time. However, he was walking towards the exit when he saw Gates along with another woman.

Wayon then walked towards the artist, saying that he was looking like Kevin Gates. However, the latter was seemingly uncomfortable with Kevin getting too close to him and said:

"Look, stop playing with me and get the f*ck on out the door."

Wayon then replies by saying;

"Can you say d*ck in that p*ssy for me real quick?"

However, Kevin Gates eventually loses his patience and hits Wayon in the back of the head. Wayon is spotted expressing his shock at Kevin's response and says:

"Come on, man. Ah, that hurt, Kevin. I didn't appreciate that, Kevin. That hurt a lot."

Kevin Gates' latest album came out earlier this year

Also known as Kevin Jerome Gilyard, his new album titled The Ceremony was released back in January 26, 2024. The project featured 17 singles in the soundtrack and three of them were released between August and November last year.

The album managed to reach the 24th spot on the US Billboard 200, alongside 8th in the US Top R&B/Hip Albums, per Billboard. While speaking to NBC Boston in April this year, Kevin Gates explained the meaning of the album's title by saying:

"It was the re-uniting of myself. I learned to love again a stranger that was once myself. I had to really realize that the external things don't add value. It was the ceremony. It was beautiful. It was a celebration of me coming back in and starting to honor myself, loving myself the right way."

Furthermore, Kevin Gates went on a tour called The Ceremony, in support of the album. The event started on March 23, 2024, in San Angelo, Texas, and stopped at various locations such as San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, and more. The final show was held at Knoxville on May 11.

The music video for one of the tracks, It Won't Happen, came out in June this year and it was helmed by Gerard Victor. The Ceremony also included guest appearances by artists such as B.G. and Sexyy Red.
