"Everybody getting left on read"— Fans react as Rihanna passes by Naomi and Law Roach at Alaïa’s NYFW show without greeting

Rihanna attended the Friday night runway show for Alaïa at the New York Fashion Week on September 6, 2024. The show was held in the Rotunda of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The 36-year-old reportedly stalled the Alaïa Fashion show for a while as she made a stop at the Daily Front Row Fashion Media Awards before proceeding to the fashion show.

Riri made a grand entry in a custom mesh off-shoulder wrap design, with bead detailing placed over a corset gown that draped to the ground.

Rihanna’s outfit wasn’t the only conversation on the internet as some netizens noticed that she didn’t acknowledge supermodel Naomi Campbell and renowned designer Law Roach as she passed by them at the Alaïa Fashion Show.

Some fans tried to give possible explanations to the scenario:

“It honestly could just not be anything. A lot of times I walk in a room and don’t speak to everyone because I just wanna get to my seat. Then I speak later. Or I genuinely just don't see em,” a netizen stated.

The Love On The Brain hitmaker and the supermodel have been rumored to harbor a mutual dislike for each other, although the reason for their supposed beef is still unknown.

On March 7, 2017, Naomi Campbell appeared on an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and explained that there was no beef between her and the Fenty mogul. When asked why she and Riri had unfollowed each other on Instagram, she responded:

“I don’t have beef. I don’t have beef, especially with black women that I think are powerful and out there. We’re all in the same thing, doing the same struggle.”
