On the July 18, 2024, episode of Bootleg Kev, Fuerza Regida's frontman JOP alluded to Drake starting a new record label called PFL. He claimed that the Canadian rapper was "tapped in" with Mexican singer Chino Pacas.

"He [Drake] has a new label called PFL. He's doing something with us. I have a record label, Street Mob Records, and that's where we got Chino Pacas, and he's tapped in with Chino Pacas. My label and Drake's label are gonna help out Chino," JOP said.

As this news circulated on social media, many compared it to the various claims made by Kendrick Lamar on his diss tracks against the Canadian rapper, given the record label's name and his supposed collab with Mexican artists. In his hit song Not Like Us, Lamar alleged Drizzy was a p*dophile and colonizer. One person tweeted:

Many concurred with this sentiment, adding the jokes wrote themselves.

"Label called PFL…jokes write themselves at this point," one person tweeted.
"He REALLY colonizing now," another person added.
"Bro shoulda named it PDFL," someone else commented.
"Homie got ran outta America so he’s going all in on international music," another user wrote.

Others were appreciative of the Canadian rapper's newest venture but wondered what happened to OVO Sound, his existing record label.

"Yeah Drake is going independent. Ovo is still under a label. He’s starting over," someone tweeted.
"Drake has literally collabed with Romeo santos and bad bunny he’s been with the Latin movement nothing new," another person added.
"Ngl I dont want this but it would definitely sound somewhat interesting at best I just want that pnd x drake collab badly," someone else commented.
"Is he still holding the OVO brand or how does it work?" another user questioned.

Drake alluded to his collaboration with Mexican artists in his new song

Drizzy alluded to his connections with Mexican artists in his new single It's Up, featuring Young Thug and Lil Savage. The track was one of the three songs released in the 100 gigabytes of data the 6 God dropped on the internet via the 100gigs.org website on August 6, 2024.

"The Mexicans love me/ I'm just out here makin' connections," he rapped in It's Up.

Drizzy has also previously worked with Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny in songs like MIA and Gently. The Canadian rapper has not yet confirmed the reported collaboration with Fuerza Regida and Chino Pacas. He has also not mentioned anything about the new record label PFL at the time of writing this article.

Since his rap feud with Kendrick Lamar, the Canadian rapper has released songs with artists like Sexyy Red and Camilla Cabello. He also revealed that he is currently working on a collaborative album with OVO rapper PartyNextDoor.

“So, you get the summer over with, you do what you need to do. I know all you girls are outside. When it gets a little chilly, PartyNextDoor and Drake album will be waiting right there for you," he said during a Toronto show on August 2.

The unnamed 15-track album is expected to be released sometime in the fall. However, there is no news of an official release date yet.
