Snoop Dogg is gearing up to release his highly anticipated twentieth studio album, Missionary, this week. The project, solely produced by West Coast legend Dr. Dre, will be delivered to all major streaming platforms this Friday (December 13).

Snoop's upcoming album is the official sequel to his 1993 debut studio album, Doggystyle, and marks his and Dr. Dre's first full-length collaboration in over 30 years.

On Tuesday (December 11), Death Row Records uploaded an official trailer for a Missionary short film, starring Snoop and Dre, supporting the release of their new album.

The film is expected to be released soon after Missionary is distributed to streaming platforms and has reportedly been directed by Dave Meyers.

From 'Missionary' tracklist to rollout: Everything you need to know about Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre's upcoming album

Snoop Dogg first mentioned working on his 20th album two years ago, claiming the project would be released on the 30th anniversary of Doggystyle, on November 23, 2023.

Snoop's debut studio album is hailed as one of the best rap albums of all time and was termed the "fastest-selling hip-hop album" in 1993. Over the past year, fans have received major hints from rappers and celebrities, like 50 Cent and Method Man, giving them an inside look at what can be expected from Missionary.

On October 30, Snoop and Death Row uploaded the first teaser trailer for Missionary on social media. The video features two men attempting to preach Mormonism to an unsuspecting woman, ending with a "release date reveal".

The cover art for the album seemingly draws its inspiration from Trojan Condom's logo, playing into Missionary's promiscuous title and Snoop Dogg's affinity for Marijuana.

As part of the official album rollout, Snoop Dogg unveiled three lead singles from the project, starting from November 1, 2024, with his collaboration with Jhené Aiko titled Gorgeous.

The R&B x hip-hop record debuted at No.27 on Billboard Hot 100 and was followed by the release of two more singles, Outta Da Blue (feat. Dr. Dre and Alus) and Another Part Of Me (feat. Sting), released on November 21 and November 29 respectively.

"Uh, Hip-Hop, took sh*t global, we done did it / Huh, wanna see your mogul, we showing you how to pivot / Got this sh*t from DMC, let's run with it (Check) / Took the fundamentals and have us some fun with it," Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg go bar-for-bar on 'Outta Da Blue'.

Last Saturday (December 7), Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg stopped by Complex Con to sit down for an exclusive interview with The Drink Champs, to discuss their work on Missionary, plans for 2025, the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show, and more.

During the conversation, Dr. Dre seemed to highlight why he considers Missionary to be one of his "finest works," similar to classic projects like The Chronic, stating:

"Snoop came in and allowed me to get down the way I get down. You know, I feel like this is some of my best work. Because my mentality for the musicianship and everything that goes into doing this sh*t within those 12 notes has just advanced so much. So, yeah, I feel like right now, today, this is some of my best work."

Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre have worked together multiple times since the release of Doggystyle, collaborating on hit records like Still D.R.E. and Forgot About Dre. The duo also headlined the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show, performing alongside 50 Cent, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige.
