Grammy-nominated singer Halsey is preparing to release her fifth studio album, The Great Impersonator, which is scheduled to be delivered to streaming platforms via Columbia Records and Sony Music Entertainment.
Last month, Halsey (real name: Ashley Nicolette Frangipane) revealed the cover art, release date, and official tracklist for The Great Impersonator. She expressed how she waited a decade to release this album when stating:

Three legendary musicians Halsey impersonated for upcoming album 'The Great Impersonator'
As part of the rollout for her fifth studio album, The Great Impersonator, Halsey paid homage to a few legendary musicians by impersonating their iconic photographs.
This concept ties into how the album is described on The Great Impersonator's cover art, where her character claims to be a master of disguise with the ability to slip "between the cracks of reality".
"From now till the album drops on October 25th, I will be impersonating a different icon every day and teasing a snippet of the song they inspired" - Ashley Frangipane stated.
1) Dolly Parton
The first musician Ashley impersonated was the "Queen of Country Music," Dolly Parton, by recreating the cover of her 1987 hit album Rainbow. Like Parton, the Bad At Love singer wears a fitted black and gold dress paired with a stereotypical '80s blowout hairstyle.
Alongside the impersonated photographs, the singer also revealed that track 09 on The Great Impersonator, titled Hometown, was inspired by Dolly Parton's contribution to music and her influence on Halsey.
2) Cher
On the fourth day of her album rollout, the singer impersonated a 1978 photograph of Cher, who was wearing a customized Bob Mackie baby blue jumpsuit paired with "chrome knee-high stiletto boots".
Ashley explained that this iconic photo of Cher is what inspired the track Letter to God (1974), saying:
"One of my favorite Cher songs, Dark Lady, was a number 1 hit in 1974. Still number 1 in my heart today."
3) David Bowie
On the fifth day of The Great Impersonator's rollout, the singer impersonated a 1974 photograph of David Bowie, in which he wore an iconic yellow mustard suit, holding a pair of scissors while smoking a cigarette.
In her post, Ashley explained that the 11th track, DARWINISM, was inspired by David Bowie, referring to the British singer as:
"Ziggy Stardust, The Starman, The Thin White Duke, The Picasso of Pop, Major Tom, The Master of Reinvention and The Chameleon of Rock . . . David Bowie."
Halsey's The Great Impersonator serves as the official follow-up to her 2021 If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power album, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Alternative Albums chart.
