In an interview with Billboard on September 4, Megan Thee Stallion addressed her feud with Nicki Minaj for the first time. Megan further acknowledged that she doesn't think she and Nicki will get back together anytime soon.

During the interview, Megan thought back on the feud, which took place months after the rappers' beef began. She disclosed,

“I still to this day don’t know what the problem is.”

She continued, saying that she doesn't "even know what could be reconciled."

Nevertheless, once the interview and Megan’s comments went viral, it garnered mixed reactions from the netizens. They took to X to express their opinion about the whole thing and choose sides.

“Everything started when she did wap with Cardi.”, commented one X user.

This user referred to the song Wap in which Megan collaborated with Cardi. The user thinks this might have fueled the beef as Nicki already had a beef with Cardi and by doing a single with the Up singer, Megan might have chosen sides.

Meanwhile, many X users supported Megan and claimed that it might have been Nici’s “fault”.

“Megan you were never the bitter one”, one user said.
“The problem is that Nicki is paranoid as hell, she knows she isn’t threatened by her and a lapdog like her other “friends” and decided to try to humble her and it backfired”, said one user.
“Nicki's fault as usual”, wrote another user.

On the other hand, others criticized Megan and supported Nicki.

“Megan, my baby. The problem is….there isn’t a real problem”, said one X user.
“She’s trying to make her look crazy… ohhhhhhh gaslighter Megan”, commented another user.
“The problem is Megan is a young female rapper. That’s all”, wrote another user.

On September 4, in an interview, when Megan Thee Stallion was asked by Billboard whether she thought she and Nicki Minaj could work things out, she said,

“I still to this day don’t know what the problem is. I don’t even know what could be reconciled because I, to this day, don’t know what the problem is.”

Megan further acknowledged her position in the rap industry and said she almost considers it as a compliment that other artists think highly of her.

“If people feel like I’m somebody to aim at, then I must be pretty high up if you’re reaching up at me. I must be some kind of competition. That makes me feel good. That makes me feel like I could rap because if I wasn’t the shit, y’all wouldn’t be worried about me.”

The tension escalated this year after Megan Thee Stallion dropped her song and music video Hiss, despite Nicki's past musical digs at Megan being shot by Tory Lanez.

In it, she rapped,

"These h*es don't be mad at Megan, / these h*es mad at Megan's Law."

Megan Law refers to the federal law requiring law enforcement to provide information about s*x offenders who have registered with the government.

Although Megan Thee Stallion did not take Nicki's name, Journey reported in their February 17 article that the allegations that both Nicki's brother and husband are registered s*x offenders may have been the reason for this attack on Nicki.

Minaj quickly followed up with the release of Big Foot, which was directed at Megan. All of this began with Nicki's feud with the rapper Cardi B.

The public feud between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B at the 2018 Met Gala caused a significant rift in the hip-hop industry. Megan, who collaborated with both singers, was reportedly among the women impacted by the feud, according to Hot97.

The beef first came into the limelight after Megan was shot at Kylie Jenner's house on July 12, 2020. Following the trial, Minaj made fun of Megan with the line,

"I don't f*ck with horses since Christopher Reeves," from her song Red Ruby Da Sleeze.

This was regarded as the initial assault. Then, later Megan used Hiss to take a jab at her and brought up Megan's Law.

On the other hand, following Megan Thee Stallion’s interview, Nicki didn’t say anything about the whole thing.
