Producer Rodney 'Lil Rod' Jones - who has worked with Diddy in the past - has spoken up about him in an upcoming docuseries. The trailer of the four-part docuseries, produced by ID and Maxine Productions - was launched on Wednesday, January 8, in which Lil Rod was seen saying:
"[There are] a lot of people like Puffy in the music business... Exposing Puffy means exposing them."
Besides Lil Rod, the docuseries - titled The Fall of Diddy - will feature over 30 other exclusive interviews including those of Diddy's former associates and accusers, AllHipHop reported on Thursday, January 9.
Lil Rod had sued Diddy in New York in February 2024
Lil Rod's statement about Diddy comes almost a year after the producer sued him in New York. Rod's lawsuit, filed on February 26, 2024, claimed he was subjected to unwanted advances by Diddy's associates and was forced to engage with s*x workers hired by the rapper. The lawsuit also accused Diddy of regularly hosting s*x-trafficking parties with underage women and illegal drugs.
Other interviewees in the upcoming docuseries include Thalia Graves - an alleged victim of Puffy who accuses him of assaulting her violently in 2001. Graves says in the trailer, "I always believed that I was the only victim."
An unidentified woman also appears in it, saying, "I have been quiet for 18 years... I am absolutely nervous sharing what I’ve seen."
The docuseries will stream on ID on January 27, at 9 PM E.T. Before its release, yet another documentary about the rap mogul is scheduled to release on Peacock.
The 90-minute-long special, Diddy: The Making of A Bad Boy, allegedly throws light on the early years of Combs, claiming to offer a peek into the forces that shaped him into the man he came to be.
According to a People article (published January 3), the special also contains never-before-seen clips of Diddy parties hosted at his home as well as in the studio. In the trailer of the documentary - released on January 3 - an unidentified man alleges:
"Any time a studio or any room is red, he’s making love and s*x... Some of the girls who were in the room, for sure, they were underage."
Among the exclusive interviews recorded in the upcoming special will be those of Puffy's former bodyguards, an intern, a childhood friend, and the winner of his one-time hit show, Making the Band.
Singer-songwriter AI B. Sure! is also going to be part of the Peacock special - set to release on January 14. The singer was a labelmate of Puffy at the Uptown Records. He also dated the late Kim Porter before she got involved with the 55-year-old. Porter had a son with Sure - Quincy Taylor Brown, 33 - and three more children with Diddy - Christian Combs, 26, and twins Jessie and D'Lila Combs, 18 - later on.
Per People, Combs' legal team called the upcoming documentaries out for including "unchecked claims" that promoted "baseless conspiracy theories" without evidence or accountability. They added:
"In the case of the Peacock documentary in particular, the motivations and credibility of those being interviewed must be questioned. Many claim to have knowledge but lack any connection to the truth, while their wild, unfounded theories are cut and sensationalized to appear factual."
Explaining Diddy's stance on the matter, they continued:
"Sean Combs unequivocally denies these false allegations, which are harmful, defamatory, and unsupported by credible evidence... Mr. Combs deserves his day in court with an impartial jury, free from the taint of these baseless claims. The facts will be addressed in court, where truth - not fiction - will prevail."
Sean Combs, who is currently detained at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center, is set to appear in court on May 5, 2025, as his trial begins.
