Beyoncé has recently been trending after her name was mentioned by singer Jaguar Wright on the show Piers Morgan Uncensored last week. Wright also addressed the singer's husband, Jay-Z, stating that the rapper and his wife were similar to Diddy.
While the singer and Jay-Z's attorney Alex Spiro responded to the comments made by Wright, a new rumor has started making rounds online. The report claims that the Dreamgirls star took legal action against media outlets publishing fake news linking her name to Diddy's ongoing case.
However, the news was revealed to be fake. Beyoncé and Jay-Z's legal team has only responded to Jaguar Wright's alleged false claims. Users on X confirmed the same by adding a context below a post shared on the official page of Pop Tingz. It also had a link to an article by E! News on the same, and the context read:
"Although Beyoncé and Jay-Z's attorneys recently criticized Piers Morgan for his comparisons regarding the accusations against P. Diddy, there is no indication that they are pursuing legal action against any media outlets."
Piers Morgan apologizes to Jay-Z and Beyoncé for the comments made on his show
As aforementioned, Jaguar Wright appeared on Piers Morgan's show, speaking on Diddy's ongoing legal issues. While she compared Jay-Z and Beyoncé to Diddy, she described the duo as "monsters," adding that allegedly even they had a lot of victims like Diddy.
However, Morgan has now apologized for the words said by Wright during the latest episode of his show, which aired on October 8, 2024. Morgan revealed that a legal letter had been sent to him related to Jaguar's statement. He addressed Wright's comments by saying:
"As I said in the moment, they were not present to respond or defend themselves, but now they have. We had lawyers contact us to say that those claims were totally false and have no basis in fact, and we've therefore complied with a legal request to cut them from the original interview."
Morgan also stated that Wright was invited to the show since "everyone has a platform" where they can say anything they want to convey to the world. Piers further continued:
"Editing interviews is not something we do lightly at a show called Uncensored. But like the proverbial cries of fire in a crowded theatre, there are legal limits on us, too."
Beyoncé and Jay-Z's attorney responds to Jaguar Wright's comments in the interview
While Piers Morgan has apologized for the words said by Jaguar Wright in his show, Jay-Z and Beyoncé's lawyer Alex Spiro responded to the same, as he spoke to TMZ on October 9, 2024. He addressed Morgan by telling him to "remove" the claims made on his show and added:
"There's rumors and then there's nonsense, and this is one step further."
Spiro also stated that Morgan "made the wise choice and acted accordingly." He added:
"It didn't just harm the Carters. What he did, effectively, was to drown out the voices of actual victims in an ongoing case, in an ongoing investigation. And that was that was too much for me."
Meanwhile, The Pink Panther star and Jay are yet to respond to the rumors associating them with Diddy's ongoing case. The duo have shared a close friendship with the hip-hop mogul over the years.
