Popular Chicago rapper Lil Scoom89 was allegedly shot and the news of his demise sent a shockwave among the masses. Lil Scoom was reportedly killed on the morning of Monday, July 8, 2024, after he was fatally shot at the 89th PI & Langley, Chicago.
Channel3Now reported that the police rushed to the spot as the authorities received two separate calls about a person shot. However, when they reached the location, they found Hogan Lil Scoom, aka Asyrion Hogan, dead on the spot.
As soon as the news started doing rounds on the internet, it left fans and followers of the rapper in shock. An X user, @DailyLoud posted the news on the platform, and the fans started pouring in their tributes, saying:
“So hard for me to type RIP for this young brother,” a netizen commented.
“Pray for him,” another X user wrote.
“Rest in power, Lil Scoom89. Your music will continue to inspire and uplift many,” a person wrote.
Others also commented and referenced the killing of many rappers in the last few days.

“When would it stop?” another user exclaimed.
“Another one lost just because of some rivalry they know nothing about and how it even started” an X user mentioned.

As the Chicago rapper tragically passed away, the police investigation is currently underway to determine who killed him, and why he was shot so brutally. Meanwhile, Lil Scoom’s mother posted a statement on social media claiming that before his death, the rapper had called his mother and stated how he was not feeling right.
She wrote:
“Hi everyone I’m mama Scoom. All the laughs and jokes I accept, because me and my baby had talks about this! He wasn’t afraid but one thing for sure my baby called before he left saying he ain’t feel right as n*ggas acting weird, 11 minutes later this happened. Everyone not your friend, everybody not happy for you, love you son.”
For the unversed, Asyrion Hogan had sung more than 50 songs. Some of his popular works include Nightcrawler, Need4speed, Button Land, Still Sippin, What They On, Exotics, Headtaps, Bully Mode, Running with Gravediggers and In Scoom We Trust.
As the rapper passed away, social media users became worried as many people were shot in the city over the 4th of July holiday weekend. ABC Chicago reported that at least 109 people were shot which led to 19 deaths in the city.
At the time of publishing this article, the authorities had not addressed the situation or the incident that led to Lil Scoom’s death.
