On Monday, August 5, a video surfaced online that showed Florida rapper BossMan Dlow being handcuffed by law enforcement officers and being escorted to a vehicle. Reportedly filmed by an onlooker, the now-viral footage revealed Dlow being taken into custody, while authorities appeared to raid the property.
While there is no official confirmation of BossMan’s alleged arrest, the internet is now having varied reactions to the clip, with many claiming it was the Feds who raided the rapper’s Tallahassee home.
For instance, Instagram user @angelonano commented on DJ Akademiks’ post by writing:
“Bro is cooked… FBI only pull up when they got a case.”
Several others joined in the conversation on X and made similar comments.
“The feds always watching,” a person wrote.
“Use to get 50k a show now it’s 50 years of life,” one person wrote.
“BossMan Dlow literally got raided by the Feds and was taken into custody. Idc what none of y’all say. The Feds make a move on ya ahh, YOU DEFINITELY DID SUMN HOT,” another person wrote.
Many claimed that BossMan Dlow filmed the video for the purpose of promotion.
“More than likely this is a video shoot,” a netizen wrote.
“This probably a music video,” one netizen wrote.
Others speculated that BossMan’s explicit rap lyrics in which he often referred to law enforcement were the reason behind his alleged arrest. One even thought it had something to do with Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ongoing legal troubles.
“Look what he rapped about,” one individual wrote.
“Diddy hiding out?” an individual asked.
“Bro’s music got him raided though!” another individual wrote.
Notably, BossMan Dlow was reportedly detained briefly in June 2024 during a raid of one of his associate’s houses in his hometown Port Salerno in Florida. Whether the now-viral video is two months old or recent remains unknown.
Meanwhile, RL Live reported that Dlow had organized a car giveaway in his native state. However, poor management and lack of permits led to disputes. Whether that had anything to do with his alleged arrest also remains unconfirmed.
BossMan Dlow was imprisoned in 2019 on cocaine charges
During his March interview with Bootleg Kev, BossMan Dlow opened up about the time when he was behind bars from late 2019 all through the COVID-19 pandemic.
He mentioned he was arrested and jailed in South Florida on felony charges of drug possession and selling and even seemingly contracted the coronavirus, although he was not tested in prison.
"It be one of those situations where if you go and tell people you sick, you test positive for COVID, now the whole dorm go back on quarantine. It was only supposed to be 14-day quarantine and we went over that, damn near 21 days. Just in the cell, in the bed all day. You can't go nowhere," he recalled.
As for his career, Dlow dropped his single Get In With Me earlier this year, which became his first entry into the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He also collaborated with Ciara on the latter’s remix of Run It Up, which is slated to drop on August 9. Additionally, he told Hot New Hip-Hop outlet recently that he was manifesting a collaboration with Canadian rapper Drake.
