The Foo Fighters have canceled their scheduled appearance at the Southside Music Festival, just weeks after frontman Dave Grohl publicly admitted to having a child outside of his marriage. The band was originally set to headline the festival, but the recent revelation by Grohl seems to have led to a change in plans.

In a brief statement shared on the Foo Fighters' official Instagram account, the band wrote:

"Foo Fighters will no longer be appearing at this weekend's Soundside Music Festival. Please check the festival website for more information."

Comments were disabled on the post, and the same message was shared in the band's Instagram Story. The band has not provided any further explanation for the decision.

Dave Grohl's revelation and its impact on the Soundside Music Festival Lineup

Last week, Dave Grohl, 55, wrote in an Instagram post that he became a father to a baby girl born outside of his marriage to director and actor Jordyn Blum. The Best of You hitmaker wrote:

"I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her."

Grohl added that he was working to repair his relationship with Blum and their three children.

"I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness," he wrote.

The specific circumstances related to Grohl's newborn child are not known. His representative told TMZ that a viral post about a woman claiming to be the mother of Dave Grohl's fourth child was false.

The Soundside Music Festival scheduled for this weekend in Bridgeport, Connecticut will proceed as planned. Foo Fighters are replaced by Jack White and Greta Van Fleet as the headliners for Sunday. Noah Kahan will headline on Saturday.

Other artists set to perform at the festival are Goo Goo Dolls, Fleet Foxes, Boyz II Men, Grace Potter, and Norah Jones among others.

While Dave Grohl has remained largely silent following his initial statement, others have spoken out about the scandal. Two of Grohl's former girlfriends, Jennifer Finch and Kari Wuhrer, have made public comments.

Finch, a member of the rock band L7, defended the Foo Fighters frontman, while Wuhrer said that she was unsurprised by the news. The actor-model also accused Grohl of cheating on her in the past with snowboarder Tina Basich.

Meanwhile, Grohl's wife, Jordyn Blum, has yet to comment on the situation. Blum married Grohl in 2003. She was recently seen without her wedding ring, sparking speculation about the state of their marriage. The members of Foo Fighters have not commented on the issue.
