A former associate of Sean "Diddy" Combs, Chopper, reveals that the rapper threatened to kill Freddy P, a member of Da Band. During his interview with The Art of Dialogue podcast, published on Friday, January 10, 2024, he discussed Freddy's relationship with the Bad Boy head.

Recalling the incident, Chopper claimed that he, Freddy, and Diddy were at the latter's home shooting for MTV's show Making the Band. Fred then said "something slick," which led to Combs allegedly "letting it loose." He added that Freddy, who he referred to as Fred, was not one to cower, stating:

"Diddy was threatening him... I looked in his eyes. Fred was lookin' for objects. Fred wanted to find a knife or something. Fred wanted to poke that boy."

For the unversed, Louisiana-born rapper Chopper "Young City" and Florida MC Freddy P (real name Freddrick Watson) were part of Combs' hip-hop group Da Band. The group's formation was documented across three seasons of MTV's Making the Band. At the end of the show, the group disbanded, with Bad Boy signing Chopper but letting go of Watson.

"He probably would try to kill (Diddy)" - Chopper about Freddy P's reaction to being threatened

During his interview on The Art of Dialogue podcast, Chopper alleged that they were all sitting at Diddy's house when he threatened Freddy P. He added that it came as a surprise to him as two men just smoked with each other.

The Louisiana rapper explained that Fred allegedly made a "slick" comment that didn't sit well with Combs. Chopper explained:

"He told MTV to turn the cameras off and walk out the room,"

He said Combs was "letting it loose" after the camera crew left the room per his request. Chopper continued:

"He told Fred, 'I would buy your whole block, move everybody out the neighborhood, and every time you walk outside, somebody will be shooting at you.'"

Chopper explained that it was this incident that made Freddy leave Da Band. He claimed that the rapper was equally angry at Combs and wanted to "kill him right there." The Louisiana rapper explained that Fred meant well and was just "disappointed" at the condition of the music industry.

"Fred mean well, you hear me. He really do.. that's my big brother," he asserted.

Calling Freddy "super talented," Chopper reiterated that his experience with Diddy and the show changed how he looked at the music industry. The rapper explained that while he took it "nonchalantly," his bandmate took the threat "seriously."

"I truly believe if Fred was in a room with (Diddy), he probably would try to kill him," Chopped added.

Over the years, Freddy has frequently spoken about Diddy. Last year (April 2024), Fred interviewed with the Art of Dialogue, where he corroborated Chopper's claims.

Elsewhere during his interview, Chopper claimed Combs was currently locked up because the feds wanted to connect him to Tupac Shakur's shooting. Tupac was gunned down while driving in Las Vegas in 1996, and his murder remained unsolved until former gang leader Duane "Keffe D" Davis was arrested and charged with his murder in September 2023.

According to an August 2024 report by Vibe, Davis claimed that Diddy planned the murder, offering him $1 million in exchange for the hit. Keffe D's trial is set to begin this March. While Combs has denied involvement in the case, in October 2024, Alex Spiro told Court TV that Shakur's family hired an investigator to find a potential link between them.

"They know if they let him out on house arrest, he 'gon be a good boy," Chopper remarked.

In September, federal officers arrested Diddy on charges of s*x trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Per his indictment, Combs ran a "criminal enterprise" that s*xually and physically abused "women and others" for years.

Since then, the rapper has unsuccessfully appealed for bail numerous times. The proposal included a bond of $50 million and 24/7 house arrest, among other measures, but was rejected, citing witness tampering and danger to society. Last month (December 2024), his lawyer announced Combs voluntarily withdrew his bail appeal.

Combs has denied all accusations levied against him. His trial is set to begin in May 2025.
