On Thursday, October 24, federal agents arrested Chicago-based OTF rapper Lil Durk in murder-for-hire charges in Florida. His arrest was reportedly connected to the 2022 murder of rapper Quando Rondo's cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, in Los Angeles.

Durk's arrest came hours after five members of his record label, Only The Family (OTF), were arrested on murder-for-hire charges in relation to Robinson's murder. The rapper is currently held without bond at the Broward County Jail, pending the transfer of his custody to US Marshalls.

Following Durk's arrest, fans online have shared their thoughts on the same. The fanbase of rapper NBA YoungBoy also shared their take on the arrest, clashing with Durk's fans. One user claimed YoungBoy should be free while Durk should be kept under custody, writing:

"Free NBA YoungBoy, Keep Lil Durk."
"Free NBA Youngboy, keep Durk locked," another fan agreed.
"Lil Durk let NBA Youngboy fans get to his head and crashed out," another user chimed in.
"Free NBA Youngboy, F**k Lil Durk," a user commented.

Some fans shared a different take on the matter, wanting YoungBoy to stay in prison instead.

"Free Durk, keep that ni**a NBA Youngboy locked up," a user jibed.
"If Durk Get Booked NBA Told On Him," a netizen alleged.
"NBA Youngboy fans after baiting Durk to slide for Von," a person commented.

On April 16, 2024, rapper NBA YoungBoy was arrested under multiple charges, including felony, identity theft, forgery of prescriptions, and illegal possession of substances. During his arrest, YoungBoy was already under house arrest for a federal firearms case. The rapper is still in jail as of October 2024, with a total of 66 charges against him, and he was denied bail in May 2024.

On October 24, Chicago-based rapper Lil Durk, originally named Durk Banks, was arrested by feds in South Florida over murder-for-hire charges. His arrest is reportedly in relation to the August 2022 murder of rapper Quando Rondo's cousin, Saviay’a Robinson.

Alongside Durk, five members of OTF—Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston—were also arrested on the same day. As per WGN Chicago, the five men face charges of "murder-for-hire, committing murder-for-hire resulting in death, the use, carry and discharge of firearms and a machine gun in the furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death."

As per reports by The Independent, the murder-for-hire plot was allegedly planned to target rapper Quando Rondo, as revenge for the death of King Von - an ally of Lil Durk. In November 2022, King Von, alongside two others, was shot dead outside a hookah bar in Atlanta, following a reported altercation in the parking lot.

Two years later, on August 19, 2022, Quando Rondo's cousin was killed while the group was out in Los Angeles. Their car was reportedly attacked by gunshots while they were at a gas station in the Beverly Groves neighborhood. Rondo, his sister, and his cousin were present at the scene. Although Rondo and his sister escaped, Robinson was shot multiple times and died.

It is alleged that the killers originally targeted Rondo during the shooting, but he escaped. This plot was allegedly set up in retaliation for the death of King Von, who was allegedly murdered by one of Rondo's associates.

The case of the five OTF members, arrested in relation to Rondo's cousin, Robinson's murder, will reportedly move to Los Angeles for further investigation.

As of now, Durk and his associates will be kept under custody per the orders of US Magistrate Judge Jeffrey Gilbert.
