Weeks after Sean "Diddy" Combs' arrest, details surrounding his case have emerged. On Friday, November 1, 2024, TMZ revealed guests attending his "freak off" parties were reportedly required to sign a detailed non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
Federal authorities arrested Combs in September 2024 on charges of s*x trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in pr*stitution. His unsealed indictment claimed he ran a "criminal enterprise" that s*xually abused "women and others" for years by force, coercion, or fear.
This included participating in "elaborate and produced s*x performances" at his "freak off" parties that he recorded for his benefit and that of his guests. Since then, netizens have speculated on which celebrities attended the parties and why they have been quiet.
Per TMZ, the NDA ensured Diddy's guests didn't reveal anything that occurred or the music mogul would take legal action.
The NDA for Diddy's "freak-off" parties reportedly prohibits attendees from disseminating information
According to TMZ, the document was a standard NDA that lasts for the life of the attendees plus twenty years after their deaths, or a grand total of seventy years, whichever is longer. The publication claimed that the length of the legal agreement varied, but it was on the longer side.
The legal document stated that the attendees couldn't record or film Diddy, other participants, or those in his orbit without written consent. It further named specific social media sites where they couldn't post photos or videos without the rapper's prior consent.
Attendees were asked not to give interviews, write books, or disseminate information related to Diddy, the parties, or their experiences that the rapper didn't sign off on. The party signing the document also needed Combs' written consent before sharing any information about the rapper, his family, friends, business associates, or current and former partners.
More details about the progress regarding Diddy's legal cases
Diddy's arrest stemmed from a federal s*x trafficking investigation into the rapper after several lawsuits were filed against him, claiming r*pe and violence. The list of lawsuits includes one from his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.
Aside from the latest exposure of the alleged NDA requirements, a federal judge recently denied Combs' and his counsel's proposal to impose a gag order on government agencies. They blamed the Department of Homeland Security for "orchestrating" a leak of the Casse Ventura assault tape, claiming it was done to:
"Mortally wound the reputation and the prospect of Sean Combs successfully defending himself against these allegations."
They further requested that the video be suppressed if evidence was found that a government agent released it to ensure a fair trial. They are referring to the CCTV footage that CNN released in May 2024, showing Combs kicking and dragging Cassie across a hotel lobby.
While the judge denied the gag order, he implemented a similar order asking both parties to abide by existing laws that prohibited lawyers, investigators, and government agents from revealing grand jury proceedings or non-public information.
Diddy has since denied all accusations levied against him. He is currently being held without bail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. His trial is scheduled for May 2025.
