From Jason Aldean to Cody Johnson: Country music singers react to alleged assassination attempt on Donald Trump

Former POTUS Donald Trump allegedly became a victim of an assassination attempt during a rally in Pennsylvania, on Saturday, July 13, 2024. He reportedly sustained non-life-threateneing injuries while being in the middle of his 2024 presidential campaign. In light of this incident, several artists, including a number of country musicians, reacted to the alleged violence.

While many of those singers condemned the violence, rest of them offered their prayers to Trump and his family, after the alleged shooting. The list involved country musicians like Jason Aldean, Carry Pearce, Ronnie Dunn, and Scotty McCreery.


The alleged assassination attempt on Donald Trump prompted several country musicians take to social media

Many country musicians took to social media where they shared their thoughts about the recent alleged violence on the former President. Cody Johnson, who had a show scheduled in Chicago, just a little while after the alleged shooting took place, addressed the crowd, and said:

"The fact that any American citizen would think what they did today would solve a problem in this country is absolutely disgusting."

He added:

"You wanna solve a problem on Election Day? Go in there and vote for who you want. You know why? Before you were born, an American soldier died for you to have the right to disagree with somebody else in this country..."

He further put emphasis on how he disliked this division amongst people with different political inclinations.

Meanwhile, Ronnie Dunn shared a photo of Trump on Instagram, and expressed relief considering that the ex-president was doing fine after the incident.

Country musician Travis Tritt took to X, and posted a picture of the politician with a caption that read:

"This is my President!"

In other tweets too, he was seen extending support to Donald Trump.

Other artists like Randy Houser and Chris Janson expresses prayers for the injured politician and anybody else who might have been injured in the shooting. Caleigh Hardy, the wife of country rock singer HARDY, took to Instagram to express her views on Joe Biden, after the incident happened.

Country singer Justin Moore reacted too and described the Saturday moment as a "sad day for our country", along with condemning the shooter's actions.

Scotty McCreery didn't openly talk about the shooting, but he posted a tweet, where he offered prayers for the country. Josh Turner wrote:

"Thank God President Trump is okay. Thoughts and prayers go up for him and for the family of the attendee whose life was taken at today's rally."

Country singer Jason Aldean and his wife Brittani offered prayers and extended support to the injured politician in the 2024 presidential campaign. Carly Pearce took to X and wrote:

"Regardless of what side you're on, this kind of hate and violence is so wrong."

John Rich tweeted:

"Somewhere, there's an angel with a bullet hole through his wing. Thank you Lord for protecting DJT."

Apart from the aforementioned country musicians, several other celebrities and politicians have condemned the violence and the alleged assassination attempt on Trump.

78-year-old Trump reportedly found himself in the middle of a shooting and became a part of an alleged assassination attempt. He was, however, rescued and didn't receive any severe injury.

FBI had further identified the alleged shooter as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. According to the feds, the suspected shooter seemingly acted alone and the case has been treated as an ongoing investigation.

Upon initial investigation, it was reported by The Hindu that Crooks made a donation to a Democratic Party cause. His father was reportedly a registered Republican, and mother had been a registered Democrat.

While Trump was rescued from the stage after the shot was taken, a bystander and the alleged shooter got killed. Two more people sustained some critical injuries as a result of the gunfire.

Post the incident, on July 14, President Joe Biden spoke from the Oval House of the White House and issued a warning of potential political violence.
