On Wednesday, November 27, Spotify dropped a teaser for the upcoming 2024 Spotify Wrapped, with the caption:

"This year contained multitudes. So will your Wrapped. Coming Soon."

In the video attached to the caption, the Spotify logo was re-imagined in nine different looks, all of which were themed after songs and albums that have been trending this year.

While the music-streaming platform didn't give away any names, an X user - called @vitudos - has cracked all the references from the teaser. According to the thread uploaded by the user on X, the 2024 Spotify Wrapped will be dominated by artists like Sabrina Carpenter, Chappel Roan, Charli XCX, and Billie Eilish.

Here's a closer look at the references used in the recent Spotify Wrapped teaser.

The first logo of the Spotify Wrapped teaser is themed on Espresso

The first logo that appears in the Spotify Wrapped teaser looks like designed inside a coffee cup and saucer, themed on Sabrina Carpenter's Espresso. Belonging to Carpenter's sixth studio album, Short n' Sweet, the track was released on April 11, 2024, and peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Espresso became a commercial success soon after its release, making it Sabrina's first track to get in Billboard's top 10 singles. The track also made way for the success of its album, which was released later in August. Other tracks that performed well and secured a position on Billboard's top ten singles include Please Please Please and Taste.

The next logo looks like Chappell Roan's debut album - The Rise and Fall of A Midwest Princess. Released in September 2023, the album contained several tracks that made it on the Billboard Hot 100 chart - including My Kink is Karma, Casual, Femininomenon, Pink Pony Club, and Red Wine Supernova.

The album itself earned the second position on the US Billboard 200 chart album in 2024, also earning Chappell Roan a nomination in all the Big Four categories of the Grammy.

The third logo in the Spotify Wrapped teaser seems to be themed after Beyoncé's eighth studio album, Cowboy Carter, which was released on March 29, 2024. Peaking on Billboard's 200 album chart soon after its release, Cowboy Carter reflects on the southern sub-genres of music that the Countdown singer grew up listening to, and journeys through the reinvention of Americana.

The fourth logo that appeared in the teaser was very much like Spotify's original theme - a black logo upon a green background. However, upon a closer look, it appears to be based on Charli XCX's sixth studio album, Brat. Drawing influence from the rave music scene of England in the 2000s, the album marked Charli's highest Billboard chart debut, where it peaked at number three.

Charli released Brat in June 2024, which was followed by a remix album - titled Brat and it's Completely Different but also Still Brat - four months later. According to Metacritic, Brat is the highest-rated album in 2024. The album received nine nominations at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

Don Toliver's fourth studio album, Hardstone Psycho, appears to be the theme of the fifth Spotify logo in the Wrapped teaser. Serving as a follow-up for his 2023 album, Love Sick, the album was released in June 2024 with four different volumes and an additional fifth volume included in its deluxe version.

Hardstone Psycho peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 album chart and featured guest appearances from rappers like Kodak Black, Metro Boomin', Future, Cash Cobain, and Charlie Wilson.

The sixth logo apparently resembled Taylor Swift's 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. Released in April 2024, the album was developed by Swift during her Eras Tour, with its introspective songs reflecting the tumultuous feelings the Blank Space singer experienced as both her public and private lives were under media scrutiny.

Megan Thee Stallion's Hiss was seemingly referenced in the seventh logo of the Wrapped teaser

Megan Thee Stallion's Hiss appears to be the theme of the seventh logo of Spotify Wrapped teaser, in honor of which the Spotify logo appeared to be drawn on a snake's egg.

Stallion released Hiss on January 26, 2024, as a diss track aimed at her long-time rival, Nicki Minaj. The rapper received wide critical acclaim for the rap flow of the song, which also led to its commercial success. Hiss debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart, also peaking at number 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart. The song was later included in Stallion's third studio album, which was named after the rapper.

The eighth logo appearing in the teaser uploaded by Spotify was designed in an underwater theme after Billie Eilish's third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft. Dropped in May 2024, all 10 songs of the album were charted in Billboard's top 40 singles, with the album itself debuting at number two on the Billboard 200 album chart.

The ninth and final logo from the Spotify Wrapped teaser was themed after Olivia Rodrigo's sophomore album, Guts. The 21-year-old released her album in September 2023 and embarked on a supporting world tour in February this year.

With all 12 of its songs charting on Billboard's top 40 singles, the album reflects on the maturity Rodrigo gained towards the end of her teenage year, following the release of her debut album, Sour.

While Spotify Wrapped has already dropped its teaser, no official date of its release has been shared by the music-streaming platform, leaving the fans in anticipation of their annual music review.
