Country music star Jana Kramer and former Scottish soccer player Allan Russell's wedding over the weekend was a fusion of classic elegance and Scottish tradition.

On July 13, 2024, Kramer and Russell exchanged vows in a private ceremony in Scotland. The duo, engaged in November 2023, told People they wanted a small and close event. Kramer told the publication that she had never been this excited to walk down the aisle for someone —

"I've also never been so excited to walk down the aisle to someone, and it didn't need to be this big thing. It's going to be very small and intimate and everything that we wanted," Kramer told People.

The couple selected Scotland as their wedding destination in honor of Russell's Scottish heritage. They chose the picturesque "true Scotland castle" for their venue, embracing the essence of elegance and tradition. The ceremony, announced by the couple on Instagram on July 15, 2024, took place over the weekend and displayed love, cultural heritage, and personal touches that captivated guests and fans alike.

"Happily Ever After…. 7.13.2024," Kramer captioned.

The duo tied the knot at Carnell Estate, Glasgow. Speaking about the choice of a venue, Jana Kramer said they wanted to have a location that could bring everyone together in one place. Jana Kramer told People that they were running out of options and then found Carnell Estate Castle on Airbnb —

"We were running out of options, and everyone kept asking, 'What are you doing?' And everything was expensive, so I just went on Airbnb. I Airbnb'd the weekend we wanted and found the stunning Carnell Estate," Kramer revealed.

Jana Kramer wore a strapless mermaid-style gown with a sweetheart plunging neckline for her wedding, and she had a traditional long train with lacy details at the borders. She kept her down in center-parted waves.

Kramer kept her jewelry minimal with a simple bracelet and few rings. Allan Russell opted for a tartan kilt paired with knee-length socks, a black bow, a wristwatch, and a white flower brooch.

Kramer told People that her Scotland venue is impressive, but what truly matters to her and Russell is having their loved ones present at the wedding. She emphasized that she wanted only their closest friends and family to share in their special day —

"We're getting married in Scotland, so the background is already stunning as it is. I just want to marry him, and I want my closest friends there. That's all that truly matters to us and our family," Kramer said.

In their Scotland wedding, the couple was joined by 35 close family and friends, along with Kramer's two children, daughter Jolie, 8, and son Jace, 5, from former partner, Mike Caussin. The couple's eight-month-old son, Roman, also joined the wedding, along with Russell's elder son, Tory, 16.

Speaking to People, Jana Kramer expressed her desire for her children to be present at the wedding so they could witness and understand that she and Russell are now husband and wife —

"I just knew that I wanted to marry him. We had talked about just going away and doing it ourselves, but it was important for me to have the wedding for Jolie and Jace so they can see that we're married now," Kramer said.

According to People, the couple wrote their vows for the ceremony, which Russell memorized, while Jana Kramer kept a piece of paper to recite. The ceremony had a classic food with options such as chicken and steak to balance the haggis pie.

As for the dessert, the traditional ribbon tartan cake, which their family handled, had three layers — the top was of fruits, the middle layer was loaded with chocolate, and the bottom layer was vanilla to balance the taste.

Jana Kramer said she did not think much about the flowers and kept them white. But she wanted the fireworks for her wedding, they were a "non-negotiable" for their reception.

According to People, the newlywed couple will fly to Italy for their honeymoon, while the children will return to the States with Kramer's parents.
