American singer and songwriter Kesha has announced her intention to re-record her hit Tik Tok, with an alteration to one of her verses that includes Diddy's name, following her successful acquisition of the legal rights to her music.

On August 7, 2024, the Californian artist took to her social media platform X to celebrate the 15th anniversary of a song that officially credited her "voice and name" on it, as claimed by the artist. She penned a lengthy post alongside a GIF and pictures of her throwback glitter-heavy cover art for Tik Tok.

"TiK ToK was the first single that I put into this world that had my voice AND my name credited!!!! I remember making it fun and happy because that's how I felt and wanted others to feel," Kesha wrote.

Kesha announced her plans to re-record TikTok after she gets legal rights to do so. This announcement has generated considerable excitement online among fans and netizens anticipating the release of the revamped version —

Many praised the artist for altering the lyrics and suggested that they are waiting for the revised version —

"CANNOT FREAKING WAIT FOR Tiktok (Kesha's version) 😭😭😭❤️," one wrote.
"OMG ANIMAL (KESHAS VERSION)????," another on X.
"a pop icon 😍 thank you for creating the soundtrack to our lives 🔥🔥🔥," second on X.
"I LOVE U ! WE ARE ALL SAYING F*CK P D****," one more on X.
"This song will always be a bop and take me back in time 🙌🏻 and the lyric change is 🔥," another wrote.

Many users on X reflected on the nostalgia of first hearing the song. While some had previously made light-hearted comments about the track, they continue to hold it in high regard, asserting that Tik Tok will always remain an anthem for them —

"This song and this era meant so much to me as a kid," one wrote.
"I still have all your old demos downloaded to my computer from those days, I'm so proud of you and the way you are still so wild and free even when others tried (and failed) to stifle you. Never stop being you! 🫶Happy 15th TiK ToK 💕," another on X.
"So iconic. I still listen to it and LOVE IT," third on X.
"TiK ToK will always be an anthem of joy and empowerment, now more than ever!" another wrote.

The idea to alter the lyrics came after the artist performed at Coachella 2024 with Reneé Rapp. Kesha's enthusiasm for the project has generated high fan anticipation for the revamped version.

Kesha set to recreate Tik Tok with fresh Diddy lyrics:

On Wednesday, Kesha announced on her X account she plans to change the lyrics of her hit song, giving credit to Reneé Rapp for the collaboration. The duo altered the original line from "wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy" to "wake up in the morning, like, 'F**k P. Diddy'" during their performance at Coachella 2024 on April 14.

This change follows a lawsuit filed against Sean Diddy Combs by his former partner Cassie Ventura, who accused him of s**ual assault and abuse. As a gesture of empowerment, Kesha is to modify the lyrics.

"I absolutely love the new lyric change. (Shout out to @reneerapp) Yes it is permanent. I will re-record it when I have legal rights to! Now, my first baby stands for so much. It stands for fiercely protecting my fun and unadulterated joy, in myself and in others," the Californian artist wrote.

The artist concluded the post by suggesting that she hopes listeners will spend three and a half minutes enjoying the newly released song JOY, allowing them to experience carefree, childlike joy and playfulness while listening.

"I hope you all can find 3 1/2 minutes of play in this song and connect with your wild child-like joy," she wrote.

The Californian artist still needs to disclose further details about re-recording the song Tik Tok from Animal.
