Jayceon Terrell Taylor, better known by his stage name The Game, set the record straight about his relationship with Karrueche Tran. The drama began last weekend when the 44-year-old rapper changed his Instagram display photo to a selfie of Tran's.

The photo, lifted from her Instagram, showed Karrueche posing in front of a mirror. Taylor's new display picture caused quite a stir, and the IG page The Shade Room shared a post about the development. Netizens soon began speculating whether the pair were in a relationship or if The Game was shooting his shot.

The California Vacation hitmaker later cleared up the situation, commenting under @theshaderoom's post, writing:

The Game name dropped Karrueche Tran in his 2016 song All Eyez

After the story gained traction, The Game soon changed his display picture to an illustration of Kobe Bryant. This is not the first time the Compton-born rapper has fawned over the socialite. In 2016, he name-dropped Karrueche Tran in his song All Eyez.

"You want me to say your name, huh? Karrueche!," he rapped.

A year before the song came out, The Game followed Tran on Instagram and liked several of her photos, prompting speculation that they were dating. While Karrueche chose not to react, her ex, Chris Brown, called out the rapper, stating this was a "gimmick" to "promote" something and "maintain fame." (To be noted Brown's comment was in response to The Shade Room post).

Per BET (September 2015), Game responded by saying:

"Keep throwing subliminals n**ga... We both know when it’s ME vs. YOU who gone come out on top punk... I still owe you one for that s**t you pulled...We both know yo time coming blood. Now gone call who u gone call n tell who u gone tell... That ain’t gone stop me from knockin’ yo **s out when I see you #YouKnowMe."

In a recent interview with Vlad TV, The Game clarified he never had a beef with Breezy and called him a "Real N**ga." He said he was just "poking fun," adding that Brown was aware of what he was doing.

The 44-year-old rapper is currently rumored to be dating Shaniece Hairston, daughter of Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada. While this remains unconfirmed, per a report by In Touch Weekly, Hairston (who revealed she was pregnant earlier this year) was pregnant with the rapper's child.

During a recent sit-down on the Tacos & Shawarma podcast, The Game discussed becoming an older parent, saying that when his "new child is 21, (he’ll) be 65," which "seems kinda old."

"And that seems kinda old until you start thinking about who’s 65 now. I don’t know how old Mariah Carey is, but she has to be, like, 10 years older than me. Or JAY-Z or somebody like that. Their next big birthday is probably 60. They’re still out here looking young and looking cool, so it ain’t that bad. But at the end of the day, it’s new life," he added.

He is also a father to two sons, Harlem Caron Taylor (2003) and King Justice (2007), and a daughter Cali Dream (2010).

Tran has not publicly reacted to the development.
